Perfect Tenn - Page 21

“Good to know. Can you just get out of there now?” I ask.

She closes the drawer and follows me to the living room. I breathe a sigh of relief when we sit down on the couch. She reaches over, smiling, and runs her hand down my sweaty hair. “Make sure you always use lube when you use your dildos. Your vagina needs that extra lubrication.”

“Thanks for the advice,” I say through clutched teeth.

“Alright, alright. So how’s things going with the mystery man?” she asks.

Here’s my chance to just tell her the truth. It’s not worth the lying. “It didn’t work out,” I say, shrugging my shoulders.

“Awe, baby, I’m so sorry. Is it because you still crave Tennyson’s meaty cock?” she says with pity in her eyes.

I blow out a breath and roll my eyes. “Mom, none of that ever happened. He was joking, he told you he was joking.”

She smiles and pats my hand. “Sure, darling. So what now? Are you just sleeping around or are you looking for another guy?”

My mother, she’s so fucking honest. I guess that’s where I get it, although my honesty doesn’t always have a sexual innuendo. “I have a date on Friday.”

“Good girl. You get back out there. Now, how about you go get a shower and let your mother take you to lunch?”

She doesn’t need to ask me twice, I’m off the couch and in the shower in a flash. Lunch with my mom, how bad could it be.

Tenn went out about an hour ago, and I’m a little sad he won’t be here to see me off on my date. What if I have a nervous breakdown or what if my outfit is too much? Who’s going to tell me? “Ugh.” I grab my purple sundress out of my closet and a pair of flip flops. Henry, Jennifer’s brother, is taking me to a cute little restaurant on the beach, so I figure this outfit is good. The only expectation I have for tonight is that I’ll run away screaming, so the flip flops work.

I straighten my long red hair and apply my makeup, before pulling on my sundress. I can’t believe I’m doing this again. What the hell is wrong with me? Am I that desperate that I need to keep going on these blind dates from hell? I guess so, because there is no other explanation.

Not giving myself a second look, I leave and make the short drive to the restaurant. Standing outside is Henry, holding one long red rose. I only know it’s him because Jennifer showed me his picture. But just because he’s really good looking doesn’t mean shit. Look at lice dad. The red rose gesture is very sweet, though.

“Henry?” I ask. I’m taken aback by his bright blue eyes when he looks at me.

“Wow, Regan?” he asks. I nod, and he hands me the rose. “This is for you. I hope you don’t mind me saying how beautiful you are.”

I smile and take the rose, sniffing the strong, floral scent. “Thank you so much. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

He places his hand on the small of my back. “Shall we?”

His sexy laugh vibrates through me. “My sister is such an idiot. I mean why can’t she look at a dick pic?”

We’ve been having the best time. Dinner was delicious, the conversation was constant, and the laughs were endless. Henry broke all of Tenn’s rules about asking questions, and it just took off from there. We are now sitting in the sand on the beach watching the moon sparkle off the water.

“Your sister is great, just a bit of a prude,” I laugh, digging my toes into the sand.

He looks at me, and I can see the moon reflecting in his eyes. “I’m guessing you aren’t like her?”

There is a sudden shift in the air. It went from light and fun to serious and sexy. I can’t seem to pull my eyes way from his, and I watch as his bounce back and forth, searching mine.

“No, I guess I’m not,” I whisper, feeling like I’m under some kind of a spell.

He finds my hand and links his fingers with mine, and my heart beats rapidly. “That’s good to know,” he says, pushing the hair out of my face with his other hand. “You really are beautiful, Regan. The way the moon catches in your blue eyes and your red hair shines is amazing, but your smile…” he pauses and looks down at my lips, “…and your plump lips are something else.”

Smiling, I dip my head before looking back to him. “Thank you, Henry. I can’t tell you what a great time I’m having.”

He smiles, making a dimple appear that I want to reach out and press my lips against. “I’m glad because I’d really like to see you again,” he says.

“Definitely.”

Just as the words leave my mouth, his lips are on mine. He licks the seam of my lips, and I open up to him. Our tongues touch, and I moan into his mouth. It’s been so long since I’ve kissed someone, I’d almost forgotten how fucking amazing it is. He lets go of my hand and sinks his fingers into my hair, deepening the kiss. It’s slow, it’s sweet, and it makes me want so much more. I run my hands up his arms and link them around his neck. It’s so damn romantic kissing him on the beach, under the moon.
