Lynch's Rule (Ruthless Sinners MC 9) - Page 70

A deep growl resonated through my chest as she quickened her pace, and even though it felt incredible, I needed more. Unable to control myself, I clutched Rae’s hips and guided her as she took me deeper and deeper.

Her hips gyrated and rocked against mine in a heated rhythm until she let out a tortured groan. With one last deep thrust, Rae’s body tensed as her breath stilled and her head fell back. Her orgasm exploded as she clamped down around me.

“Fuck.” I tried to hold back, not wanting the pleasure to end, as I continued to pump into her. She jolted her hips forward, and that’s all it took to send me over the edge. My body jerked as I rode the wave of ecstasy and came deep inside her.

She was mine.

All mine.

I held on to her hips, holding her in place as I caught my breath. Still trembling, Rae collapsed on top of me, her heart beating wildly next to mine; neither of us moved as the aftershocks from our pleasure rolled over us. I ran my fingers through her hair as I told her, “You are one amazing woman, Raelyn Thomas.”

“You’re pretty amazing yourself.”

She eased off of me and lowered herself onto the bed next to me, then reached down and pulled the covers over her body. I tossed the condom in the trash, then slipped my arm around Rae’s waist and pulled her to me. She rested her head on my chest as we became lost in our own thoughts. After several minutes, I found myself worrying that someone might’ve noticed Raelyn was no longer in her room. “We need to get you back to the hospital.”

“I know.” She snuggled a little closer and closed her eyes. “Do you mind taking me?”

“That’s what I’m here for.” We lay there quietly for several moments, and it wasn’t long before Rae’s breaths became shallow. I slightly nudged her. “You gonna be able to stay awake long enough to get there?”

She opened one eye and smiled. “Maybe.”

“Up, woman,” I ordered as I sat up in the bed. “I don’t want you having any excuse not to go through with this surgery tomorrow.”

“But your bed is so comfy and warm!”

“Rae.”

“Fine, I’m going, I’m going.” With an exaggerated pout, she tossed the covers back and forced herself out of bed. As she started putting on her clothes, she looked over to me and asked, “You really think everything’s going to be okay?”

“Yes, I’m sure of it.” I stepped over to her and placed my hands on her waist. “Now quit stalling and finish getting dressed. We gotta get you back to the hospital before they realize you’ve gone AWOL.”

If I’d only known how things would unfold, I might not have been so eager to bring Rae back to the hospital.

RAELYN

“How long do you think it will be before she wakes up?”

“It’s hard to say. It’s different with every patient.”

“But it’s been hours.” I could hear the concern in my mother’s voice as she spoke to the nurse, “I thought for sure she’d be awake by now.”

“Sometimes there are complications that require deeper sedation than the typical twilight method.”

“Dr. Grant didn’t mention any complications.”

“Then, I wouldn’t worry. She should wake up soon,” the nurse replied with a reassuring tone. “I’ll be back in a few minutes to check her stats and see how she’s doing.”

Neither my parents nor the nurse seemed to be aware that I’d been awake for at least half an hour. I’d heard every word they’d said and knew they were worried, but I was too scared to open my eyes, terrified something was wrong. I tried to convince myself that I was just being dramatic and that nothing was wrong with me, but I knew in my gut that something wasn’t right.

So, I just lay there, pretending to be asleep.

“Have you called Josey or Jacoby to let them know she’s out of surgery?”

“I sent them both a message an hour ago. They’ll be here soon,” Mom answered. “I sent one to our folks, too. Your mother wants you to call as soon as she wakes up.”

“I was already planning on it.” There was a lull in conversation until my father asked, “You know, that guy is back. He’s been in the waiting room since the doors opened.”

“I’m not surprised. He seemed to be very fond of Rae, and from what I could tell, she seemed to feel the same about him.”

“You don’t appear to be very concerned about this fella.”

“Because I’m not,” Mom answered without hesitation.

“But we don’t know anything about him.”

“I know he saved our daughter’s life by convincing her to have this surgery. I’d say that speaks volumes for the man.”

“But you saw that leather jacket he was wearing. He’s one of those biker guys.”

“Since when do you judge a book by its cover?”
