No Complaints - Page 42

“Fuck yes,” he says. “And right now, our child could be growing inside of you.”

“So what, huh? You want to stop trying?”

He laughs and smooths his hand across my forehead, brushing away my sweaty hair. “After how unbelievably sexy you just were? No goddamn way. We could have twenty children, and I’d still find it impossible to resist you.”

I lean forward, guiding my lips to his.

“I can’t believe how lucky we are,” I whisper. “We find our one, all by accident.”

He grins as he gets closer to me, closing the distance. “Thank God for crappy internet, eh? They will get no complaints from me.”

I giggle, the sound cut off when he moves the rest of the way and kisses me passionately.

Wrapping my arms around him, I sink into the kiss.

Then I feel his slick wet cock grow hard, the tip brushing against my belly.

“Already?” I say, laughing.

“Are you surprised?” His hand trails down my body, softly massaging my breast. “You can’t bounce around like that, tempting me with your curvy body, and expect me to only want you once…”

“Okay.”

I swallow, wondering if I look brave or dorky or silly or something in between.

But I’m done living with how I might be seen.

Ryland wants me. That’s all that matters.

My man wants me.

“But let me try something.”

He tilts his head, grinning. “Okay then….”

I sit up in bed, climb into his lap, and lay my hands against his chest. His cock brushed against my clit, teasing close to my entrance.

“That’s it, Rachel,” he breathes, his hands smoothing across my thighs to my ass. “Ride me, baby.”

I stare down at him, feeling intoxicated, feeling like I might wake up.

But no. No!

This isn’t a dream.

This isn’t a fantasy.

This is my life.

And I’m the luckiest person in the world.

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Ryland

I sit on the park bench, watching as Rachel walks in the shadows beneath the trees, Rusty padding at her side. They’re going ‘stick shopping’ and taking the whole thing very seriously.

It makes me smile so wide my cheeks ache, watching my dog and my woman.

I can’t believe there was a time when I thought I’d be alone forever.

Now that I have Rachel, and there’s nothing standing in our way, I can’t imagine accepting a fate like that.

But it’s only her. Nobody else could’ve done this to me.

Rachel picks up a medium-sized stick, looking down at Rusty. He whines and nuzzles at the ground, making her laugh. Her summer dress flutters around her, settling against her curvaceous body.

It’s been two weeks since we first made love, and not once, even for a second, have I come close to getting tired of her. Every time I look at her feels like the first time.

And, to make it even sweeter, she’s started to move differently, more confidently.

It’s the way she swishes her hips when she knows I’m looking. It’s how comfortable she is teasing me, bending over in bed when she’s on her laptop, shooting me a look over her shoulder that has me salivating.

It’s not just the sex.

There have been so many nights just sitting on my balcony, Rusty sleeping at our feet as we share a meal. A few nights ago, my woman even sang the full version of the song she wrote, standing at the railing, serenading the whole city.

“Did I sound dumb?” she asked, turning to look at me once she was finished.

I shook my head, finding it difficult to choose the right words. Her performance hypnotized me.

“We need to get you some studio time,” I told her.

She scoffed, shaking her head.

“I’m serious,” I went on. “The world deserves to hear your voice.”

Now, Autumn returns from the refreshment kiosks with three coffees. She places the holder on the bench. I nod my thanks, picking mine up, and together we turn to watch Rusty and Rachel.

“She really loves that dog,” Autumn says.

“I’m glad,” I reply. “And I’m glad she has you, Autumn. You’re a good person.”

“Thank you. Are you nervous?”

I swallow, glancing at her with a smile. “Is it that easy to tell?”

“You have my blessing,” Autumn says. “For what it’s worth.”

“It’s worth a lot,” I say full of honesty. “Rachel’s told me how much you mean to her. How, without you, her childhood would’ve been ten times worse. Knowing you’re okay with this…it makes all the difference.”

“I can’t imagine her saying no,” Autumn mutters.

I sigh. “Before I met Rachel, there were lots I couldn’t imagine. I couldn’t imagine feeling this way about anybody. I couldn’t imagine feeling so happy. I couldn’t imagine this hole, this gap, this broken thing in me – whatever you want to call it…I couldn’t imagine anybody fixing it.”

“Yeah?”

“Well, all of that happened,” I say. “So just because you can’t imagine something, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

“Okay, fine. But I’ve seen you two together. Plus, she talks about you all the time…when she’s home, at least.”
