His hands grasped her hips but he didn’t separate their bodies. He brought her harder against him, in spite of their watchful audience. His blue-green gaze blazed with lust...the same lust she could feel pounding in her own body.

He lowered his mouth to just below her ear, his lips sending shivers coursing down her spine as he spoke in an undertone. ‘You’re enjoying yourself a little too much, aren’t you?’

Elodie gave a breathy laugh and rolled her head further to one side, to give him better access to the sensitive skin of her neck. ‘You’re making it hard not to enjoy myself. No one would ever think you weren’t desperate to get me alone right now.’

His hands tightened on her hips and his lips moved across her skin as lightly as a feather, stirring her nerves into a frenzy.

‘I am desperate to get you alone...but not for the reason you think.’

His voice was a low, rough burr of sound that made her spine tingle from top to bottom. She framed his face in her hands, staring into his eyes with brazen defiance. ‘You mean you’re not going to make mad, passionate love to me on our wedding night?’

‘You know the rules.’

His eyes glinted with determination and she could feel the war going on in his body. He was fighting their mutual attraction, but she was confident she would bring him down.

She smiled a sultry smile. ‘I just love it when you draw a line in the sand.’

‘Why?’

‘Because I get such a kick out of stepping over it.’

And then she planted her lips on his.
