The Woodland Packs - Page 193

I’d never had many female friends before, and it was a lovely addition to my life.

Especially all the mothers-in-law.

Three of them.

All pleased as punch to have a grandchild on the way.

And the best part of all?

We hadn’t heard a thing from the bears.

They hadn’t found me. I was finally feeling safe.

The door opened and my heart leapt with stress, as it always did. Too many years of watching for a flying fist had me jumpy still.

But as Tayte walked into the house, full of smiles and laughter, I let the anxiety go down a notch.

It was taking longer than I thought it would, to feel safe and “normal.”

According to Claire, my version of normal—a Cinderella slaving away under abusive bears—was not normal.

And yet a part of me just knew that this dream would shatter sooner or later.

That these lovely, kind wolves would come to their senses and realise I wasn’t worth loving.

But for now…

“How’s my beautiful sweetheart?” Tayte asked as he picked me up and gently twirled me around.

When he put me down, his hand cupped my belly and stroked our baby possessively.

“Have you eaten lunch?”

I shook my head. “No, I’ve been waiting for you. There’s tuna pasta in the oven if you’re hungry, or I can just make some sandwiches?”

“If you’ve cooked a hot lunch already, that would be great.”

Sam and Dane came through the front door as I was serving the pasta.

I got kisses and cuddles and the love surrounded me.

My men sat at the table and ate, talking about their work and the food I’d made for them.

“This is so good, sweetheart,” Tayte said as he finished his second bowl.

I sat and picked at my food.

“You okay, beautiful?” Sam asked.

“Yes. It’s funny, I just… you know, no one ever said thank you to me for cooking for them, before. And you guys thank me all the time. I can’t quite get my head around it.”

Dane came up behind me and put his arms around my waist, or what was left of it.

“Oh, beautiful, you deserve compliments for everything you do. The house looks amazing, the food’s brilliant, but it’s you we come home for. You know the pizza place delivers, right?”

I laughed as he rubbed my belly in soothing circles and my pussy pulsed in need for him.

I swallowed the moan.
