The Woodland Packs - Page 123

Nevaeh groaned and rolled her eyes, her temper catching up with her now.

“Listen… I met you guys yesterday. Yesterday! And I know you believe in this mythical fate person, but I don’t. I control what happens in my life, and you can’t tell me that great sex is enough reason to rearrange your entire life.”

Aaron fell away like she’d struck him and I stepped forward.

Enough was enough.

I had to protect my pack from the person hurting them, and at this moment, it was our mate.

“That’s quite enough out of you.”

She whirled on me and I was happy to take her wrath. Aaron and Brad couldn’t handle Nevaeh at full tilt, I could already tell.

“What did you just say to me?”

Her shock was obvious. She may have had an abusive male in the past, but she wasn’t used to being spoken to like she was a child, which was what she deserved at the moment.

“I said, that’s enough. You were just given the best possible gifts that all three of us could give you in bed. All the love, attention and time we have. Do not tell us that you want to go home because we’re just ‘great sex.’ You’re obviously more inexperienced than I realised, otherwise you’d know that great sex only comes with pure intent, and love. So, if you need to go back to your life and your ‘home,’ Nevaeh, go.”

I held her gaze with mine and saw the spark of anger flare to life.

“You can’t control me, Grayson. Not with sex, not with this supposed fated mate thing. You’re lucky I’m still here. Because the last thing in the world that I wanted was three boyfriends with more muscles than brains.”

A growl rolled through my chest and my wolf jumped to the surface.

“Be careful, Nevaeh. You’re crying out for a damn good spanking, so I suggest you don’t push me any harder, or you’ll see how dominant I can be.”

Nevaeh’s eyes opened like saucers. “You wouldn’t.”

I laughed, though there was no humour in the situation.

“You’ve already proven that you have absolutely no taste in men and can’t pick a protector from a prick. So, I suggest you stop pushing to find out which one I am.”

She narrowed her eyes as she shuffled like a crab, sideways around the room, towards the front door.

“No. Nevaeh. Don’t go.” That was Aaron, though I didn’t look his way.

I kept my eyes on the woman aiming to tear our hearts from our chests.

Her eyes spat fire and I knew I was about to get another dose.

“I knew it! I knew you were as bad as my ex. Thinking you can control me, own me. I’m not a fucking possession, Grayson.”

This time my laugh sounded mean. Even I could hear it.

“Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea what you are, or what you want. So, stop spitting and hissing at me like some sort of feral cat, and go home.”

She got to the door and threw it open, her hair flying around her in a beautiful arc.

Brad rushed forward and I grabbed his arm to stop him.

He struggled with me. “No, Grayson! You can’t let her leave. We’ll never find her again. We’ll be alone. Forever.”

I looked over to where Nevaeh was freezing up on me.

“Tell him he’s wrong, Nevaeh. After all, Little River is only an hour away.”

I gripped my Omega harder as he struggled against me.
