The Woodland Packs - Page 104

“Fine! You know what? Go! Go back to your old, lonely life, and I’ll see you at work.”

Claire stomped off towards the door and I jumped to my feet.

“Wait! Claire, that’s not fair. You don’t know what it’s like to have a guy hurt you the way Trevor hurt me.”

Claire turned back to stare at me. “Yeah, maybe I don’t. But you know what I know? T

hat asshole men are always bad lovers, even when they’re being nice and trying to suck you in. Do you agree?”

I shuddered and nodded. Sex had always been terrible with Trevor. I’d tried to believe that his speed in coming and lack of caring was because he wanted me so much.

But the lack of intimacy, touching and caring afterwards never made sense.

“Yeah, I agree. Men are always selfish lovers, though. All the girls at work say it. Even the good husbands are bad in bed.”

It was a biological problem. The continuation of the species was not contingent on whether we had an orgasm or not. It was all about them.

Claire gave me a smug smile and crossed her arms over her large breasts.

“Well, I can tell you that they’re wrong. My men are amazing in bed. Give me non-stop attention and don’t come until I’m fully satisfied.”

I just stared at her. That wasn’t possible.

“And I guarantee that if you go to bed with your triad, you’ll find out the same.”

Heat surged up my face, and into the lower half of my body.

“Why would I do that?”

“Because you want to know if they’re different than your ex? That’s the perfect test. No man can hide his selfishness in bed. It all comes out when the pleasure is there for the taking.”

“But I… wouldn’t even know how to… Even if I wanted to…”

Which I didn’t.

My body screamed out in pain at my lie. I wanted to. God, how I wanted to.

It had been years for me.

I was practically re-virginised, or so Google said.

Claire chuckled. “Go over to the house and see them. Let your guard down, and I guarantee you’ll end up in bed with them. The mating attraction is too strong for them to resist, and in the end, you’ll fall for it too.”

I indicated to my clothes. “I don’t have anything to wear. Wait, actually, I think I packed a change of clothes for after night shift.”

I hadn’t even thought about it until now.

“Good. Have a shower and some breakfast, get changed, and go spend some time with your triad. If you’re not convinced that they’re different from any other man you’ve ever known by the end of the day, I’ll drive you back to Little River myself. Tonight.”

She left the room and began puttering around the kitchen.

I sat back down on the bed, more confused than ever.

If I were completely honest with myself, I was very attracted to the three men who saved me last night. Grayson, most of all. Which I hated myself for.

Why did I have to want the guy with the biggest muscles?

I sighed and got to my feet once again and walked through the lounge room towards the front door.
