The Woodland Packs - Page 68

“I cannot believe how hot that was, I… can’t even explain it.” Dexter was stroking my back and chuckling with happiness.

“Best day of my life, by far,” Jay was saying, and I looked up with a dopey smile, almost incoherent.

But I had to say it.

They had to know.

“I think I can make this day even better.”

Dexter pulled a pillow down for himself and tucked it beneath his head. He ran a hand over my cheek.

“Oh, really? How?”

I smiled up at them all, their full attention on me.

“I’m pregnant.”

Epilogue:

One year later.

Dexter.

It had just gone sunrise and the packs were gathering in the meeting area.

The area was so much cleaner now, thanks to the mates who had completed our families.

I don’t stare at broken beer bottles and dirt any longer, with the scent of testosterone choking me.

The packs were settled, happy, flourishing.

“Claire’s still sleeping, so I thought I’d let her rest.” Taylor handed me one of our twins, a boy, born three months ago.

Another wolf for the pack.

“Hello, my son, did you give your mother hell all night again?”

My babe gave me a sleepy smile and nestled into my arm, where I held him tight.

“They both did, didn’t you hear them?” Taylor scowled at me and I shrugged. I slept through most of their crying.

“You’re the most demanding, aren’t you, beautiful girl?” Taylor held our daughter up in the air, and a sigh of true contentment stole my breath.

The first daughter born to our pack in over fifty years.

A true miracle—just like her mother.

I looked back over the yard. The grass tended, the tables and chairs arranged in an orderly manner.

The women had brought so much with them when they moved in. Not just happiness, love and sex for three frustrated men.

But the need to prosper and grow. To protect and nurture, as we were designed to do. Our mates had truly made us whole.

“She’s perfect,” I declared.

Jay groaned as he walked out of the house rubbing his eyes. “That’s because you don’t spend half the night walking her up and down the hallways.”

I grinned and took my daughter in my other arm, loving the feel of our children nestled against me.
