The Woodland Packs - Page 34

“Oh, sorry! I’ll show you where the shower is and then if you’re up for it, we can go for a walk or something, if you want. I can show you more of the town.”

Claire nodded and followed me into the main downstairs bathroom.

“Here you go.”

She grabbed the clothes off the couch and retreated, shutting the door behind her.

Dexter laughed, and slapped me on the back. “Way to make her feel comfortable.”

I wanted to punch him in the face and he must have seen it, because he backed away quickly.

“Well, I’d better get over to work for a while, since I feel like I could seriously lift a building and… you look like you want to demolish it. Good luck.”

Dexter headed upstairs, to grab some clothes I assumed, and I sat down with a plate of food in front of me and shovelled in as much as I could.

The feelings of anger and need inside me were building, and I wasn’t sure how to settle them.

Claire emerged from the bathroom minutes later, her pretty face flushed pink from the hot water, dressed in some worn jeans and a white t-shirt.

“You look gorgeous,” I managed to say, through my thick tongue. She looked good enough to eat.

“You hungry?” Jay asked her, and pushed a sandwich on a plate across the bench.

She pulled up a stool and sat. “Yeah, a bit. Thanks.”

She tucked into the meal and Jay put everything away, his movements sharp and jerky in a way they hadn’t been before.

When he walked into his room and shut the door, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the guy. He’d needed to wait until I’d mated with her, and then it would be his turn. If I were him, I wouldn’t want to wait, and he was obviously struggling.

“Do you want to check out the town? Or is there anything else you’d like to do today?”

I could see her swaying on her feet. “Um... actually I?

?d love a proper nap, if there’s somewhere I can sleep? I was at the end of a sixteen-hour shift this morning and I’m feeling lethargic.”

A good orgasm will do that to you.

I looked towards Jay’s room, where the door was shut.

“Well… Jay is using his room, I’m gonna assume Dexter’s room is a mess, so you can sleep in my bed if you want, but I’ve gotta warn you, it’s pretty male. Nothing too friendly and frilly.”

She laughed. “Have you seen Dexter’s room? It can’t be worse than that.”

I shrugged and pointed to the stairs.

In ways it probably was worse than Dexter’s room. Not warm or masculine, it was hot and modern.

She took to the stairs in front of me and I watched her ass swing as she walked.

Fuck.

I looked away. Shouldn’t have done that.

Now my cock was swelling and I wanted to knock her to the ground and mount her in the hallway.

I forced myself to slow my steps and watched her walk ahead. I gulped in the air around me, trying to slow the beating of my heart. My hands clenched at my sides as I struggled with my own base instincts.

This was insane.
