The Woodland Packs - Page 15

My rational brain couldn’t believe I was doing it—letting a complete stranger kiss me like that. But then he slipped his tongue into my mouth and I was back in my body, feeling everything.

The heat of his thin, muscled body beneath my hands. His lips pressing passionately against mine. The taste of his tongue inside my mouth making me moan like a wanton slut.

It had been far too long since anyone had kissed me like that.

But then his strong hands moved to my ass, gripping my flesh and pulling me closer against his cock, which was hard beneath his jeans.

It pressed against my belly, pulling me back to reality and the great big warning bell clanging in my head.

This was dangerous… and wrong.

I broke away from his grip, breathing hard. I stood up and stepped back, holding my hand up so he didn’t approach again.

I could feel the energy in the room, the heat. The atmosphere had changed, becoming charged.

I could actually smell their arousal. Their need for me.

“No. Please. Don’t touch me!”

The three of them froze and Jay held up both hands. “No one will touch you, Claire. You don’t need to fear us.”

Dexter growled, the sound both scary and strangely exciting. I could feel the wetness between my thighs, readying my body for their entrance.

No! I wasn’t doing this.

I focused on Jay, reaching for the anger simmering just beneath the surface. “Oh, really? You kidnapped me! There’s three of you and only one of me. You could rape me and kill me and no one would be the wiser! How can I not be afraid of you right now?”

Angry tears filled my eyes as I suddenly realised how vulnerable I was. Dexter took a step forward and I yelped.

“Not you! You’re the scariest one of all.”

Dexter fell back, his face a mask of hurt and distress.

Jay moved in front of Dexter to block him from my view, and my heart that had been racing like a steam train began to calm down.

“Claire, seriously. We would never hurt you. We couldn’t. That would be like cutting off our own arm.”

He seemed sincere, and I was a pretty adept at identifying a liar.

“Okay, well if that’s true, you’ll take me home. Now.”

I put my hands on my hips to emphasise how serious I was and Jay’s smile faded.

“Um… but we haven’t even gotten to know you yet.”

Pardon me?

“What do you mean? Why would you want to get to know me?”

Didn’t he hear how insane he sounded?

“Um…” Jay didn’t seem to have an answer for that.

Taylor stepped up next to Jay and got my attention, but didn’t approach me, which was good.

“There’s something special about you… for us. In our community we believe in love at first sight. Fated mates.”

“Mates?” They made me sound like an animal. “What are you guys?”
