Chapter Twelve
Isaac
“Eight AM,” I mutter to myself as I stare at the clock, with a bemused shake of the head. “I cannot believe that I am in the office this early. What the hell has happened to me?”
Maybe I know what it is, or more like who, has made this happen. Lexi. Freaking sexy, tattooed Lexi who is making me feel like a weight has lifted and I’m happier now. I can’t believe it. She’s so unexpected, such an awesome surprise, and I absolutely love having
her here. So much so that I’m putting much more effort into my job. I have done all the things that I promised my father I would in the last couple of weeks, and the results show that. Everything is running smoother, we have more clients than we have ever had before, and everyone is happy. It’s a freaking miracle, and it’s all because of her. Maybe I should be here more, perhaps this is where I’m supposed to be.
If I’m working my ass off and it’s making a difference, then perhaps I’m needed here more than I thought.
“Right, email.” I take a seat in my office chair and bring my computer to life. “Email first.”
I like to get in early because I enjoy getting things done before Lexi arrives so I can spend a bit of time flirting with her in the morning. Since cashing in on my sexual favors, things have opened up between us. The walls that she planted around herself have started to come down, showing me more of her real self, which is just what I wanted. Ever since I gave her the job, I have wanted to have time with that crazy ass woman I saw in the restaurant on a boring date, and now she’s finally coming free. She’s so much better like this.
I ping off a lot of emails and sign some paperwork as well, all while the office starts to fill up. People aren’t even shocked to see me in the office early anymore. It’s become such a regular occurrence these days.
“Hey there, Isaac.” Ah, there it is, the only voice I actually want to hear here. “How are you today?”
I glance up with a smile on my face and instantly see the twinkle in her eyes. She’s glimmering for me. The tension between us has long gone, because now we share this delicious secret, which is everything.
“I’m good. Working hard. You know me, right.” We both laugh. “How are you feeling this fine morning?”
“Not quite as peppy as you, but yes, I’m good.”
Her gaze falters for a second and I get a little glimpse of the other secret that she has, the one that I haven’t quite unraveled yet. I haven’t been trying my best to be honest, I want to think that she’ll tell me when she’s ready to, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten about it. I’m still intrigued.
But then her expression shifts and she’s back to her normal self again. I guess she isn’t ready to speak yet.
“Well, hopefully I can bring your mood up by the end of the day.”
“Oh yeah? Is that going to be the mission for today?” she giggles. “But how are you going to balance that with everything you have going on today? You must be having a very busy day today if you’re in so early.”
“You act like I’m not usually here this early in the morning. I always am, Lexi.”
“Hmm, you have been recently, I will admit that.”
I can’t resist that look in her eyes, she’s luring me in like a siren, so I rise to my feet and I take her hand in mine. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing, this definitely isn’t a smart move since the office is filled with people, but I can’t help myself. Maybe the fact that this is so wrong, and taboo is making it even better for me…
I drag her to the little cubby hole just behind my office where I hang my coat and I pull her in for a kiss. Not just any kiss, one that’s hot and heavy and absolutely filled with passion. We explore each other’s mouths with our tongues, pressing up against one another as we do. There isn’t much room in here which forces us together, but that’s perfect. Just what I need. It allows me to run my hands all over her body, feeling those sexy curves of hers. I still haven’t seen her fully naked yet, I still don’t know where the snake ends, but I’m sure, that time will come soon. For now, I can use my imagination to fill in the blanks and see what I want to see.
“Oh, fuck,” I groan. “You are so sexy. You have no idea.”

Fuck, I’m losing my head, I don’t know where this is going to lead, it’s going to bring me trouble though, that’s for sure. “Isaac!”
Me and Lexi leap apart… well, as far apart as we can like we’ve been electrocuted as Charlie’s voice floods my office. He can’t see us here, but we both look at one another wide eyed and shocked like teens who have been caught out in the middle of something steamy… well, it’s a bit like what just happened.
“Answer him,” Lexi hisses. “He knows that you’re here already.”
