All the Little Lies (English Prep 1) - Page 76

I nodded slowly, pivoting my hips up to get a better angle. “Perfect.”

“You are,” he whispered, moving in and out of me slowly. “You are perfect.” He bent his face down to mine and kissed my forehead, but soon, his slow thrusts turned into fast, hard ones. I matched his body and met him with each stroke. I felt all my worries wash away. I felt all my insecurities disappear. My hard exterior turned soft with each touch of our lips. I finally felt, after five dreadful years, I was safe.

The pressure built up inside of me, and I withered underneath Christian. His tempo picked up, my back arched, and as soon as his lips touched my neck, I reached my limit. My hands squeezed his biceps as I braced myself for the fall, and not a second later, he paused on top of me, falling just as fast as I had.

For a few moments, he just rested on top of me, his slick forehead on mine, our bare chests smashed together. Unspoken words were shared between us, and I never ever wanted to live without him again.

Once our breathing finally slowed, Christian rolled off of me. I shivered as the sweat on my skin began to dry, but Christian was quick to put his shirt back on me. A small smile found its way onto my lips.

“Is that a real smile I see? Was that all it took? Sex with me?”

I smacked his shoulder. “No. I was smiling because you were being a gentleman when you put your shirt on me because I was cold. It was nice.”

Christian shrugged as he pulled his pants back on. His arms reached out, and he pulled me over into his lap as he rested his back along the wood. “I’ve been nice this whole time. You just kept pushing me away.”

I looked up at him. “The whole time?”

He peered down at me through his dark eyelashes. “Fine. I’ve been nice recently. Is that better?”

I softly laughed. “Yes.”

My gaze roamed around the old treehouse, a blissful state settling within my bones. “Did you ever expect this?” I took his hand and wrapped it around my middle. “Us. Here. Naked in your old treehouse?”

Christian’s chest tumbled behind me. “On more than one occasion, yes.”

I threw my head back and laughed. A real, genuine laugh. “What? When?”

“I was a horny fuck in middle school. Of course, back then it freaked me out, thinking those things about you, but I still thought them and indulged in them while in the shower.”

“Oh my God!” I covered my face with my hands, feeling my cheeks burn.

Once we caught our breath, Christian intertwined our hands together. My heart swelled in my chest. I was giddy. Happy. And for once, I wasn’t trying to run from it.

“Now, if you would have asked me in the last five years if I’d thought you’d be mine, I would have growled.”

My cheek lifted. “Who said I’m yours?”

His hand left mine, and he brought it under my chin to tip my head back. His eyes were dark and intense, passion blazing throughout. “I did.”

A sense of excitement ran through my veins. Nervous jitters bounced in my stomach. I liked this. I wanted to be his, more than I had ever wanted anything in my life, and that was scary.

His face fell for a moment. “You are mine, aren’t you?”

Without hesitation, and before my mind could stop me, my heart answered, “Yes.” Then, I paused and narrowed my eyes, still looking up at him. “But I’m still mad at you about the Gabe thing.”

His mouth curved upward, and I rolled my eyes, snuggling back into his chest. The truth was, I was annoyed about the Gabe thing. He shouldn’t have gone over to his house and let his temper get the best of him, but what was done was done, and there wasn’t much that could ruin this moment with him—especially not Gabe.

I stared out of the treehouse window, the crickets still chirping a melody in the background. A gust of cold air wafted around us as I saw a light flicker off in his house. “Do you think your dad is going to come looking for us? Because if I thought he was going to think poorly of me showing up in your shirt, he’s really going to think poorly of me seeing me in your shirt with no pants on.”

Christian’s finger traced the inside of my thigh, and I felt my body heating up again. I kept my breathing even, but I was simmering underneath. “I don’t care.”

“But I do!” I swatted at his hand.

His hand froze as his large palm laid on my leg. “We need to talk about something.”
