She is Mine - Page 35

“This calls for a celebration,” he says, biting my lower lip. I laugh.

“I couldn’t agree more.”

I giggle as he clambers on top of me and before I know it, we’re making love again. And I know that this will never ever get old. We’re going to be this happy together for the rest of our lives. I thought I was happy before, but this is another story entirely.

He’s made my life perfect.

Vincent

It’s late afternoon. I should be at the office, but after spending all morning fucking my beautiful girlfriend, I realized that I had much more important things to do than go to work. Things are amazing with Brianna, but one thing is missing. Something important.

A ring on her finger.

I’ve been out in the city searching for the perfect ring for several hours. It has to be just right for my bride to be. Some people might think I’m crazy for wanting to propose so soon. We’ve only known each other for twenty-four hours, after all. But they say that when you know you know, and it’s true. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with the woman of my dreams, and I’m not willing to wait any longer to make that happen. I know she’ll say yes. I know she wants this just as much as I do. I know we could get married in a back alley with paper rings if we had to. But I want to give my perfect bride the perfect ring. She deserves it, and I’m not about to go cheap on this.

It takes me another hour to find the ring, but when I see it, I immediately know that it’s the one. I buy it, not caring as thousands of dollars leave my bank account. It’s worth it for her. She’s priceless, and so her ring must shine as bright as she does.

When I return to the apartment, I find her staring out of the window at the city. She doesn’t turn when she hears me enter, but she calls over to me.

“The view here...it’s so beautiful. I can’t believe you get to wake up to it every single day.”

I walk slowly behind her and drop down on one knee. It takes her a moment to turn and see what I’m doing, but she gasps as I hold out the diamond ring to her. It’s so big that it sparkles in the dying sunlight. She covers her mouth in shock, but she makes no move to run away from this. She’s waiting for me to ask her the question so she can say yes.

“You can wake up to this every day too,” I say. “You can move here with me and I’ll give you the life you’ve always dreamed of. We can have a huge family with lots of children. We can work together every single day and we’ll never have to be apart. I love you, Brianna. I loved you from the moment I first laid eyes on you. And now I want to seal the deal. I want to make you mine forever and always.”

“Oh my God, Vincent…”

“I know this might seem fast, but I don’t agree. Why waste time when we know what we want? I want to tell the world that you’re mine. I want us to stand together in front of all of our family and friends and tell them how much we love one another. Brianna, will you do me the honor of being my wife?”

“Yes,” she whispers. “Of course I will. I love you so much, Vincent.”

“I love you too, baby.”

I slide the ring onto her finger with my heart pounding hard in my chest. I can barely believe this is happening. She giggles to herself as she admires the ring for a moment.

“It’s perfect. You’re perfect.”

I rise from my knees to kiss her and pull her into my arms. The love inside me right now is so strong that I feel like I could burst. She clings to me as we kiss and I lift her off her feet to carry her to the bedroom. The past day has been a whirlwind, but everything is falling into place. Now, she’s not just my partner in business. She’s my partner in life.

“You and me...we’re forever,” I growl as I lay her down on the bed. She opens her legs for me, ready.

“Forever,” she whispers.

Epilogue

Six months later...

Brianna

Today is a big day for me and Vincent. Almost as big as the day we discovered I’m expecting our first child or the day we got married in front of all of our family and friends. Today, we’re opening the doors to our new business for the first time.

I can barely believe we own this giant building in the financial district of New York. Standing at the base of it and looking up, it looks like it reaches the clouds. I cradle my stomach, feeling the baby kick inside of me.
