She is Mine - Page 2

Wayne

The second the final flame was extinguished, she was all I could think about. I knew I had to finish my duty before I could return to her, but the woman I saved from the fire...she set my heart alight. This burning inside me is something I’ve never known before. I have to find her. I have to know who she is. I have to get the opportunity to make her mine.

I know it was totally inappropriate to be lusting after her while I was saving her from a fire, but when I saw the beautiful, curvy woman cowering from the flames, I fell for her instantly. How couldn’t I when her beautiful brown eyes and her silky dark hair captured my attention immediately? How was I meant to resist her when I held her in my arms and felt the curvy form of her body against mine? I’ve never once wanted to be with anyone, but the moment I swept her off her feet, I knew I had to make her mine.

I forced myself to stop thinking about her until she was safe. It was the only way to get us both out alive. And then when I went back inside, I allowed myself to believe she wasn’t real. But now, as I walk across the parking lot toward the ambulances, I see her, waiting for me. She looks a little flustered, but unharmed. I feel my heart swell and my cock rise in my pants. Now that I know she’s safe, she’s unleashed the animal in me once again. I want to grab her and have her right there on the stretcher. I want to take control of her body and bury myself deep inside her tight little pussy. I know I should be thinking about anything else, but I can’t help myself. I’m drawn to her, and now that I know she exists, I’ll never be able to forget her again.

“You,” she whispers as she looks at me. “You saved my life.”

“It was nothing,” I growl. “I’m just glad you’re safe. What’s your name?”

“Ashley,” she says gently. “You?”

“I’m Wade. It’s good to see you safe, Ashley. It was a close call. I’m sorry...but everything in that building is gone now. Nothing can survive a fire like that. We got out just in the nick of time.”

Ashley nods in understanding, but her eyes suddenly cloud with tears. I see that the paramedic who has been hovering nearby is about to move to comfort her, but I step forward with a cold glare in his direction. I don’t want him anywhere near her. She’s mine. I know it’s crazy to hate him, but the second I see his hand hovering close to her shoulder, I want to grab him and shove him away. Only I should be able to touch her.

“It’s okay,” I growl, stepping forward and pulling her into my arms, away from the paramedic. “You’re going to be okay. I’ll make sure of it.”

She nods against my shoulder and I hold her tight, feeling protective over her with my arms wrapped around her. It only makes me realize how much I want to make sure she never comes into harm’s way again. In my mind, I promise her that I’ll protect her for the rest of her life. Because now that I’ve got her, I’m never letting her go again.

As I pull away from her, I can see the paramedic giving me a dirty look. I glare back at him so hard that he has the sense to cower away from me.

“Is she cleared to leave?”

He falters. “Yes, but-”

“I can take it from here,” I growl. The paramedic hesitates for a moment. I can tell he doesn’t want to leave her, and who can blame him. But she’s mine now. No man will ever touch her again. He sniffs before turning on his heel and walking off. I turn back to Ashley.

“Do you have anyone you need to contact? Someone, you want to stay with?”

Ashley sniffs, wiping her eyes. “Not really...my parents don’t live in the city. I’ve got nothing...nowhere to go...I don’t even have my phone.”

The poor girl looks terrified, suddenly. Maybe it’s just hitting her what happened here today. But she’s not going to be left out on the street like a stray. No, I won’t allow it. I have to make sure she’s safe, no matter what. And the only place I can truly know she will be okay is by my side.

“You don’t need anyone else,” I say. “I’m taking you home with me.”

She blinks in surprise. “You...you are?”

“I’m not leaving your side,” I growl, stepping forward and rubbing her arms gently. She seems so fragile next to my hulking frame, but I’ll never, ever hurt her. “You can come and stay with me. I’ll make sure you have everything you need. You don’t have to worry about anything at all. You’re safe with me.”
