Not My Romance - Page 36

He trails off, and I nod. “That sounds amazing.”

His eyes widen. “The food, or after…”

I laugh. “Both. But wait a sec, are you even going to have any food here?”

“When you were in the bedroom, picking your one hundred and one outfits—”

I grin and slap him on the chest playfully. I’m starting to get addicted to this playfulness with him. “I think that’s a slight exaggeration.”

He grins. “I made a call to the groundskeeper and asked him if he’d mind bringing a couple of steaks by. He was happy to do it. He’s a good man. And of course, I gave him a bonus.”

“It seems you thought of everything, huh?”

“The only thing I can think about is you, Kyra.” He leans in, eyes glinting. “I’m sorry if that was insanely cheesy. But it also happens to be true.”

“I don’t care if you want to be cheesy with me.” I magnetize to him, my man, until our lips are a hair's breadth apart. “In fact, the cheesier the better.”

Because I love you, I almost say, but I push back the words at the last second.

There’s no freaking way I’m saying that first.

We kiss again, getting lost in each other until time ceases to matter and all that exists is the clashing of our bodies. Then he steps away with a rumbling sigh.

“Let me get those steaks on. Otherwise, I might have to find something else to eat…”

I whimper.

He smirks. “You stopped me too soon last time, Kyra. I can’t wait to taste how fucking perfect you are. I can’t wait to feel you creaming all over my mouth, getting you nice and slick for when—”

He chuckles gruffly, shaking his head. “You make it so easy to get carried away. Come on.”

We step inside the cabin, turning on the lights, sending an orange glow around the wooden interior, with exposed rafters and bearskin rugs laid here and there. It has an inviting homey feel.

I stand at the kitchen partition when Kayden starts the steaks, watching him with his sleeves rolled up, his muscles twitching each time he flips them over. He glances up at me every now and then, and each time is like a gift.

The more I watch, the hungrier the demand grows inside of me. My sex feels crazily sensitive, brushing against my panties every time I move. The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and my fingers twitch as though wishing they were grasping onto his powerful muscles.

“What are you fidgeting about?” Kayden teases.

“Am I?”

He looks at me with sudden seriousness in his eyes, as though reading my thoughts. “Yes, you are. Fuck the steaks.”

He sets them off the grill, switching off the heat. “They can wait.”

“What do you mean?”

He walks around the kitchen divider, his body heaving until he has me backed against the wall.

His hands are shaking slightly as he reaches up and cradles my face.

We kiss, but deeper this time. There’s a new significance behind it. I can feel all the desire bursting out of him, his need to forge a future together.

I moan and grab onto him, sinking into the feeling, ignoring the voice that won’t stop whispering, even now.

You’re not going to be good enough.

You’ve never done this before.

You’re going to disappoint him.

I focus only on the feeling of his lips against mine, his rock hard cock pressing through his pants against my belly. It feels massive, even contained in his pants, a huge throbbing rod of pleasure.

Or will it be of pain? Can I take him if he’s that massive?

“If you don’t want to do this,” he says, “tell me now. Because I won’t be able to hold back much longer. Fucking hell, Kyra, it’s like your curvy perfect body was designed to make me feral.”

“You are, aren’t you? You’re a beast.”

“But only yours,” he says growls.

“Forever,” I whisper, standing on my tiptoes and gazing into his dreamy eyes. “I’m ready, Kayden.”

I think so, I think but don’t add.

Chapter Twenty-One

Kayden

Her lips have never tasted or felt better as I push against her, my hands sliding down her body and squeezing her against me. She gasps through the kiss as if she knows how significant this is.

I snarl and open my mouth, our tongues clashing together, my cock so hard it feels like it’s going to erupt.

But no. Never. I’m not wasting my seed anywhere but her tight virgin slit.

She giggles when I pick her up, placing her down on the kitchen counter.

“What’s so funny, eh?” I smirk, ending the kiss but keeping my face inches from hers. I watch her lips move but I’m too caught up in her to pay attention.

This is one of our favorite positions. I can tell my woman savors it as much as I do, when our lips are so close, our breath whispering over each other… but not kissing. But we’re ready to kiss.
