Sloan

Langley snored in her sleep as I drove down the long stretch of highway leading away from Karim and closer to the ranch. Little huffs and puffs that felt hot against my leg where her head rested. My right hand slipped into her hair, massaging the back of her neck. My hand moved the shiny strands of gold and tawny blonde against the tan of my skin. I was betting that she spent more time outside since coming here because her skin was sun-kissed with barely there freckles dotting her shoulders that hadn’t been there the first day I saw her. I’d have to make sure she put on plenty of sunscreen if she spent time under the sun.

Glancing down, I saw the crescents of her eyes lined with darker blonde lashes and finely arched brows. Very little makeup graced her skin and I liked that. I told her that anything she needed or wanted would be provided for her at the ranch, and all she had to do was ask and I would get anything else she needed. Chelsea had makeup shipped from New York and LA. I had a feeling Langley wouldn’t need any of that with her natural beauty shining through. I liked her just the way she was.

We had a solid conversation the first hour driving, and I learned she liked classic radio and rock music, but not techno or rap. I liked country and rock. She told me about the local University she attended for her math degree, remaining undecided what she wanted to do before her job at the bank. I admired her desire to work a bit more for experience before deciding if she would go back to school for an advanced degree or work her way up through the bank. I attended the University in Austin, studying animal husbandry and business.

The week had been a busy one, driving back and forth in preparation for her stay. I needed certain things taken care of that only I could do and new ranch hands to hire to ease my load around the place, giving me more time to spend with Langley. I hadn’t done that in the past, preferring to do as much of the work I could myself but something about her enticed me to slow life down. I had plenty of go-to people who could set things up or get things I needed. Langley was pretty low-key in that aspect and I was grateful. My housekeeper, Stella, was excited to have female company again at the house. I don’t think my last sub was high on her list of favorite people given how demanding she was when I was gone for long periods of time working. Stella liked to think a woman in the house domesticated me just a little bit, but I wasn’t convinced of that.

Langley moved in her sleep and I adjusted her body closer to me pulling her deeper down to rest in my lap. The drive to my ranch was a solid two, sometimes three, hours depending on the traffic outside of Karim. I loved the open space and the red-orange dirt dotted with tall, green succulents and brush along the highway. The drive wasn’t for everyone, and the quiet didn’t bother me either. There would be plenty of time to introduce her to ranch life over the next month.

Rocking Star Ranch had been in my family for generations, successfully breeding cattle and studding horses. My stallion, Blackjack, was getting ready to breed again, and I was eager to get back punching the gas pedal to drive faster. This was a busy time of year for me, and I hoped Langley would adjust well and be a balm for my soul in the evenings after working twelve hour days to maintain the ranch.

I pulled up to the house, admiring the big timber posts and large mirrored windows. It might be an unusual house out here, but I loved it. The wrap-around porch held a rocking swing that looked out to the barn that held the horses. A split rail fence followed the length of the property, and once I turned on the drive toward the house, my sense of pride reinforced. It never escaped me feeling like a king returning home when I stopped in front of the house. Looking down to Langley breathing deeply in my lap felt like bringing my queen home for the first time. There was something about her that stirred a softness in me I didn’t typically have. I brushed off the stirrings of emotions. That wasn’t why I brought her here; I wasn’t looking for permanency, only a companion.

If things worked out maybe I could ask her to stay?

No.

I pushed that down. Getting attached wasn’t a good idea no matter how much I liked her smile, her silky hair that reminded me of gold, and her eyes like caramel.

There were a few things to take care of, and Langley was still out peacefully snuggled against my leg. Tonight would be soon enough to be with her. I carried her into the house, depositing her onto a leather sofa inside the living room and covering her with a blanket before tucking her in. I thought about how I would take her the first time, here in the living room out in the open. It was only me and her in the house anyway. She wouldn’t know that the rest of the staff was down at the bunk house. I’d have the fire going since it cooled down in the evening once the sun set which wasn’t long now.

I returned to the truck and brought in her purse, leaving it on the counter in the kitchen so she would see when she woke up. The folder of documents as part of our agreement landed next to her purse. We discussed different options for birth control and medical health. Standard items for a relationship like this I hoped would involve copious amounts of sex. Since Langley already had an established form of birth control, and we both tested clean, there would be no issues there. I felt the eagerness building again.

I kneeled down next to her, brushing her hair back. “We’re home, darlin’.” I kissed her forehead and then headed out to the barn, knowing she’d be fine until I got back.

Blackjack greeted me, tossing his head up in the air wildly and prancing inside his stall. “Hello, my prince.” He whinnied and nickered as he bobbed his head up and down.

“Eager for your filly.” I mused aloud at just how similar our situations were. Langley was resting peacefully inside the house, her presence a tease to my senses.

Blackjack stomped his hooves, and I knew the feeling of impatience well. The first time always held an element of raw mystery. What would she sound like coming apart in my arms when I thrust inside her? I had a fair idea after playing with her at The Club a week earlier. The soft mews and grunts that were often faked by others were loud moans and hoarse pants with Langley.

“Soon, Blackjack. I promise.” I fed him an apple which he took greedily, the juices spilling over my hands. I left him with the ranch hands and stalked my way back to the house.

Langley

I woke slowly, working out the kinks in my back and neck, feeling smooth leather under my legs. I sat up, letting the colorfully woven blanket slip off of me. The dark brown leather couch was butter soft against my bare legs. Wherever I was, it was inside a large, open floor plan of a house that was constructed of wood and as I looked around came off as extremely masculine and befitting its owner.

Getting my bearings, I stood up looking around. Obviously, my master didn’t mind me poking around if he left me here out in the open. I figured he would be back soon and curiosity killed me to explore. Above the mantle in the living room was a huge mounted set of steer horns. I knew nothing about cattle, but I couldn’t imagine the animal they used to be attached to.

I found a bathroom off the hallway and freshened up. I didn’t have anything with me, and my purse was sitting on the kitchen counter obviously brought in by Sloan at some point. I smoothed my hair back and followed the hall out to the front door. I looked outside and saw the sun beginning its decent behind the hills for the night. Thinking about night made me shiver in anticipation.

I opened the large, heavy door and stepped outside onto the front porch. The house was huge, much like its owner. I walked down the steps in awe of my surroundings, turning round and round taking

it all in from its tall mirrored windows and to its thick wooden columns.

“Holy shit, this isn’t Little House on the Prairie,” I muttered in awe.

“Howdy, pretty girl. Enjoy your nap?”

“Fuck.” I clutched my hand to my chest, startled as Sloan chuckled catching me as he came around the corner of the truck.

“Easy, darlin’.” He held me gently, brushing the dust off his hat, and I noticed he was wearing his jeans but his dress shirt from earlier had been changed out for a tight black t-shirt that looked molded to the muscles of his chest.
