“Yes, but I’ve never been in love.”

Good.

“Who did you date, and how many?” I asked. “This could help with finding your stalker.”

It would also help me make sure that no other men would start sniffing back around and thinking they could return to her life. I didn’t know how Mrs. Ellen or York would take our new relationship, but I wouldn’t leave Zola alone anymore.

She sighed. “Since being in New York, I’ve only dated two guys.”

“One was Trigger. Who was the other?”

“Brenton Turk. He’s a male model. I met him at a fashion show in Paris. We dated long ago. It was long distance communication. I haven’t talked to him in four years.”

“How long did you two date?”

“A year.”

I fisted my hand. This wasn’t a topic I relished. I didn’t like the idea of any man having Zola to themselves for a year.

I gritted my teeth. “Was it a sexual relationship?”

“Yes.”

“How many times?”

She shook her head. “I…I don’t remember.”

So many times, you couldn’t count?

It made sense. They’d been together for a year. I didn’t have to like it. However, I planned on talking to this Brenton Turk personally.

“Do you know where he is now?” I asked.

“Last time I heard, he was in Los Angeles pursuing an acting career.”

“There’s no communication between you two anymore?”

“No.”

“How did it end?”

“He just stopped calling. I was confused and called him. I drunk texted a few angry lines and then deleted his number. A week after that, he was posting pictures with another model and kissing her.”

“You’ve never seen him after that?”

“Never.”

I should punch Brenton in his pretty face for not calling her back.

“I don’t think Brenton would have anything to do with this,” she said. “He was always really consumed with himself. He checked the mirror all the time. He even had a small mirror on him. When we went out to eat, he would check it five times during the meal.”

“Were there others?”

“No.”

“Just two sexual partners in the past five years?”

“Four, but the other two were one-night stands. I…” She sighed. “I don’t have their information. Both sexual experiences resulted from drinking and partying.”

I scowled. “Both at the same time?”

“No, Hunter.” She laughed. “They were different times. Years apart. Just…one-night stands. I’m sure you’ve had some?”

“That’s all I’ve done. It made life easier that way. My job involved a lot of travel.”

“How would you meet them?”

“We’re talking about you.”

“I’m done.”

I needed to know more about Zola’s past. “What about before the five years? Who did you date then?”

“Two guys.”

I frowned.

“What, Hunter?”

“How did these guys get by me?”

“You always hid. Now, you can’t hide anymore.”

“Is that right?” I asked.

“So…are you judging me for my sexual past?”

“No. I just want to break their legs for tasting you.”

“It’s old news.”

“Hmmm.” I sneered.

She smiled. “You look like you want to fight someone.”

“I do. I told you to save yourself for the right one.”

“I was trying to save myself for the right one.” She shrugged. “He was just too scared to fuck me, until last night.”

I closed the distance between us. “Is that what happened?”

She parted her lips. “Yes. He was being a little pussy.”

In a flash, I lifted her and placed her on the counter. “Pussy?”

She giggled, moved me away, and jumped off the counter.

I watched her. “Where are you going?”

“I’m getting pie. You’re completely ruining my tradition.”

“They’re not going to get their happy ending. He just left the dwarves.”

She rolled her eyes. “They’ll get it.”

“Anyway. We’re not done talking.” I stomped after her.

“Stop playing.” She glanced over her shoulder and hurried her pace. “What are you doing?”

“I’m going after my Raven!” I charged for her.

She shrieked.

I grabbed and picked her up. Laughing, she wrestled against me. “Stop it, Hunter. I’m getting pie.”

“You don’t deserve pie!” I buried my face into her neck and sucked on the curve. “Pussy? I’ve been a little pussy this whole time?”

Laughter had her shaking against me as I carried her to the bedroom.

I placed her on the bed. “Raven, how could you do that to me?”

Giggling, she looked behind her. “You’re not talking to me.”

I pointed at her. “I’m talking to you, Raven.”

She laughed. “I already can’t stop you from calling me Zuzu. We don’t need another name.”

“Raven, how many times did you let those dwarves spoil you?”

She touched her chest. “I am not that type of lady.”

“You fucked them?”

She sighed. “Okay. Okay. It was just five or ten dwarves. No more.”

“I’m going to wash the scent of dwarves off you with my cock.” I dove for her.

She shrieked again, her body shaking with laughter. “Hunter, you are crazy.”

I pulled her into my arms and pressed her soft body against me. “Goddamn it. I missed you. I haven’t been this relaxed or laughed this much, since…since the days we used to spend time together as kids. I missed this.”

My hands explored her soft frame. “I missed us.”
