Bond (Klein Brothers 1) - Page 64

Fuck me, I just couldn’t catch a break. How was I meant to stay in control when I knew the one good way of keeping my promise to myself wasn’t waiting for her mom to come home?

Gritting my teeth, I shot her a semblance of a smile, but it was brittle. “That’s good. I’m sure they’ll have fun.”

Tilting her head to the side, she stared at me in the dim lighting of the parking lot. “Okay, what’s wrong? You’ve got a little crinkle right here,” she pressed between my eyebrows.

“Nothing. I just…” Just what? I just needed not to be a dick who thinks with his penis?

Eyes dancing with humor, Heidi leaned in. “You know, I was hoping we could have a sleepover of our own.”

Groaning loudly, I tipped my head back to glare up at the stars. Fuck me sideways! “I can’t.”

“Why not?”

Because I was looking up at the night sky, I didn’t see the expression on her face as she asked it, but I could hear the hurt in her voice, prompting me to lower my head back down immediately.

The only way to fix that hurt would be by telling her the truth, so I sucked up my pride and did it.

“I want you to see how much you’re worth,” I started, then stopped when she looked confused. “I’m not explaining this right,” I sighed, opening the door and lifting her into the cab of the truck.

Wrapping her legs around my waist, I started over. “Okay, so, I don’t think you’ve been treated like a princess—which is exactly what you are—and made to feel how exceptional a person you are. Your family has done it, sure, but has any man ever made you feel like that?”

Her answer confirmed my suspicions and pissed me off on her behalf. “Not that I can remember, no.”

“I didn’t do that on our first date when we fooled around by the lake, and I made a deal with myself I wouldn’t do anything like that until after we’d had ten dates minimum.”

Her jaw dropped for a moment. “Ten?” When I nodded, she huffed out a breath. “But why ten?”

I shrugged. “It seemed like a good number at the time.” But now I was kicking my ass—again. “It’s been easier knowing Nemi’s at home waiting for you, but now that she’s not, it’s—”

“Harder,” she breathed, lowering her hand to cup my crotch, and taking me by surprise.

“Fuck me,” I groaned, finding it the only way to express the mess of a situation I was in as I dropped my head so my forehead was resting on her shoulder. “Baby, if you keep doing that, I’m not gonna be able to hold back.”

Instead of letting go like I was begging her to do, she skimmed it lower until her fingers were right between my thighs, her palm cupping my hard cock perfectly. “I don’t want you to wait. You decided on ten, I didn’t. And now that we’ve had four dates, I think that’s a good, even number to stop on, don’t you?”

I did. I really fucking did.

“But—”

Turning her head so that her mouth was right next to my ear, she whispered, “I’ve got an empty house for the next sixteen hours and a comfortable bed.”

Every muscle in my body tightened up at the prospect of taking her in that empty house and on that comfortable bed. And then she blew my control entirely. Her thumb somehow found the tip of my dick through the denim of my jeans and circled around the sensitive head.

But that’s not what did it.

Nah, that was her whispering, “And I’m not wearing any panties,” as she took my hand and led it up under her skirt, the bare flesh it landed on confirming she was telling the truth.

Lifting my head quickly, I dropped a hard kiss on her upturned lips, closed the door, barking, “Belt!” and then ran around to my side and jumped in.

I don’t even know how we made it home safely, but we passed two of the police department's patrol vehicles on our way, and they didn’t pull me over for driving like an ass, so I must have maintained control and driven sensibly. I just couldn’t remember doing it.

As soon as we stopped in front of Heidi’s place, I jumped out and jogged around to help her down from the cab. She wasn’t short by any means, but I hated the prospect of her twisting her ankle or hurting herself when she got out of my truck.

Unable to let her go this time, though, I carried her up the path to her bright yellow front door, all of the details that normally caught my attention about her front yard passing me by as I walked blindly through it.

“Here’s the key.”

Supporting her with my knee under her ass, I held her firmly with one arm while I used the other to open the door. No sooner were we through it and it’d clicked shut behind us, I had her up against the wall, our mouths practically fused together.
