I sigh in contentment as he turns me in his arms, my back pressed against his front. We gaze up, eyeing the darkening sky. “I think we should get married at night, outside. We fell in love beneath the stars, and I think it would be perfect if we became husband and wife there too.”

He kisses my neck and threads our fingers together. “That sounds perfect, but I have to say, I’d marry you whenever, wherever. As long as you’re my wife at the end of the day, that’s all I need.”

“And I just need you.”

We stand here, together, and gaze up at the stars. The very ones that kept us linked even when we were apart. They represent so much more than just lights in the sky. Now, we celebrate that love beneath the fallen stars.
