Matched by Moonlight (Bride Mountain 1) - Page 53

She froze, her eyes opening. “I—”

“You can deny it all you want, but I know you saw her, too.”

“I saw…something,” she admitted after a moment. “I’m not saying it was a ghost.”

Dan grinned in satisfaction. “Neither am I. But I’m not saying it wasn’t, either.”

“Whatever it was, we’ll keep it between us, shall we?” she asked with just a hint of pleading.

“Absolutely.” He lowered his head again, stringing kisses from her ear to the curve of her shoulder. Then scooted down to explore the upper curve of her breast with his lips and teeth, his hand preceding him even lower.

“It doesn’t matter, anyway,” he said, his thumb circling lazily, making her mind spin in concert with the motion. “I don’t need a ghost to tell me this is right. That it’s going to last.”

Her fingers sliding into his thick hair, Kinley arched into his touch, offering herself to him again. She didn’t need a ghost, either, she thought happily. But it was nice to know the bride approved.

Chapter One

Mr. Capelli was not going to be happy.

Turning into the driveway of Capelli Auto, Mary Jane was already rehearsing her excuses. She knew her little blue car was overdue for a service, but it was the start of the summer season and they’d been so busy at Spruce Bay Resort. The car had been making a strange noise for a while, she would have to admit it, but the noise was definitely louder now than it had been at first, so it wasn’t as if she’d been ignoring something so blatant all this time.
