Dirty Delilah - Page 24

“And you aren’t testing me to make sure I’m not like my mother?”

He flinched. “No, Delilah. Though the way that keeps coming up, you might be testing yourself.”

He had a point. Hadn’t she thought that after she reacted to Sebastian’s touch? “Are we going to be swingers? Because I have to tell you right now I am the jealous type, and if we’re going to be together, I’m not willing to share you.”

“I’m looking at the only one I want, Delilah Dean. I love you. I want you in any way and every way I can have you. Being away from you these last few days… I never want to go through that again. What I do want is to be the one to give you more pleasure than you’ve ever known. Just answer me one question, knowing that I expect absolute honesty—in your mind, who was the stranger in our fantasy?”

She took a shaky breath. “Sebastian.”

Asa’s grin was wicked. “I was hoping you weren’t going to name a movie star. He would have been harder to round up.”

“Are we sure about this?” She wasn’t. She wasn’t even sure Sebastian would say yes. “What if he was just flirting with me to bug you?”

Asa chuckled. “You are not that naïve anymore, Del. I think you know when a man wants you.”

When she bit her lip, he hesitated. “What is it, Delilah?”

“I’m in love with you, and I’m terrified of screwing it up.”

“As long as you never stop loving me, there’s no way you can, Del. You’re stuck with me. Now let’s go torment the Greek.”

She snorted. “You are a bad man.”

He sent her a smile as he started the car again. “I’m a Wild Man, baby. And you’re my dirty girl. We were made for each other.”

“He might not say yes, you know.”

“Delilah, he’s a man and you’re you. Try getting him to say no.”

She had to admit, the idea sent her adrenaline through the roof. She couldn’t stop shaking. Or smiling. Asa loved her…Asa wanted to make her threesome fantasy come true.

Why was she supposed to say no to that again?

They parked in the driveway and Asa had to come around the car to get her, because her legs suddenly refused to work. When they got to the door, her rebel didn’t knock, and apparently he didn’t need to—it was unlocked.

Sebastian stood at his wall of windows, silently taking in the view of the sunlit Bay. Delilah glanced at Asa, unsure of what she was supposed to do.

He pulled her close and kissed her, and she melted in his arms. Asa. Her Asa.

“Don’t mind me,” Sebastian commented wryly, his back to the windows. “I just live here.”

Asa lifted his lips and shook his head ruefully. “Sorry, man. I can’t help it. She’s my girl. She loves me.”

Sebastian nodded tersely. “Good. I’m glad that worked out for you. If you’d like to wait for another day to discuss the engine, we could reschedule. I’ve waited this long, a few more days won’t matter.”

Delilah watched Asa’s smile widen. “See? I told you,” he whispered to her.

She understood. Sebastian had bought a house, a shop, and offered to buy another just to get a hold of Asa’s brain. Now? He wanted to put it off. He’d rather not watch Asa and Delilah falling all over each other, even if it meant not talking about the problems with his KII engine.

Sebastian really did want her.

“Delilah?” Asa’s voice was calm, but she could hear the excitement beneath his façade.

“Yes, Asa?”

“I think you should take off your clothes.”

A thrill shot through her and she knew it didn’t make sense. Knew she shouldn’t love the way he’d said that. As if he owned her.
