Dominic (Made Men 8) - Page 128

Maria only had one question. “What’s his name?”

“Did you do this?” Dom asked Lucca as he stood the second Matthias’s lap dance started.

“Nope.”

Seeing the underboss answered truthfully didn’t explain why he was heading for the door. “Where the hell are you going, then?”

“Don’t worry.” Lucca smiled. “I’ll be back.”

“Maria, what are we doing here?” Adalyn asked for the hundredth time. “Since when do you, or any of us, like sports?”

“And this is supposed to be a bachelorette party,” Lake said with emphasis. “Where are the boys?”

“Oh, they’re coming,” Maria assured her with a smile as they took their seats. The best part about it was Vincent and Amo had to take their seats a row behind them—and they actually thought they were about to enjoy a game.

As soon as the hockey players slid out onto the ice, the girls eyes slightly glinted.

“They’re awfully covered up,” Adalyn said, still not seeing the full picture yet.

Katarina was making herself comfy, knowing exactly why they were there. “You’re about to find out why.”

“Maria, if we leave now, we can still turn this night around. We need to get you some real men ….” Lake’s voice trailed off as the puck flew across the ice.

Vincent no longer looked at the men playing on the ice. “Oh hell n—”

“Ow!” Elle and Chloe jumped at the same time with a collective cringe, but by the fifth hit, even they couldn’t pull their eyes away.

“Maria”—Adalyn swallowed as she watched the smack cam’s zoomed-in view to see the fine-looking men with anger issues under the helmets—“I’m sorry I ever fucking doubted you.”

Hockey was and always would be a contact sport.

Dominic filled glasses with the hard liquor he found in the cabinet. “Drago, did you do this?”

“Fuck no.” He took the glass that Dom had filled. “Do I need to remind you that your sister took a fucking baseball bat to my kitchen?”

I hope she does it again.

He looked over at his brother. “Angel?”

“Do you see my ass in there?” he griped as he picked up a glass.

All the men turned to see Matthias’s shirt getting ripped off.

Nero swiped a glass, quickly downing the contents, before he tapped the glass for Dom to fill it back up.

“You’re not twenty-one?” he suddenly realized.

“Dominic Luciano is really asking me if I’m of drinking age? Really?” Nero looked at him like he was fucking crazy.

He supposed the kid had a point ….

“I’m an adult and, trust me, there are worse things I’ve done,” Nero assured him before he waved a hand at the two cowgirls riding Matthias like he was a horse. “And I’m stuck in here with this while I got a girlfriend out with your future wife doing God knows what—”

Dominic quickly refilled Nero’s glass, and they all took a drink.

Trying to turn their attention away from what was going on in the living room, Dom stared into his glass. “Does Sal not come to events?”

They invited Sal, but like Katarina’s wedding, he was a no-show to their so-called bachelor party and probably wasn't going to attend their wedding too.

Drago took another sip. “He doesn’t leave from behind his computer much.”

As Dom nodded, the door opening had the men turning their heads to see Lucca walk back in.

Seeing him holding out a wad of cash, the two girls suddenly stopped dancing on Matthias.

“What are you doing?” Matthias practically cried in frustration to Lucca.

“Get going.” Lucca’s cold voice had the girls grabbing the money and leaving.

“What the fuck?” Matthias watched them leave with tears in his eyes. For a moment, he had clearly forgotten who he was talking to. “Why’d you do that?”

“Come on.” Lucca waved his head at all of them. “Let’s go.”

By the time the girls left, they were all laughing and had each picked their favorite hockey player who they now sported their last names and numbers on the back of the new jersey’s they were wearing.

“Did you see Bolton punch that guy’s helmet right off?” Lake asked, still imagining the scene in her head. “He can really play some hockey,” she commented like a single one of them knew or even cared about the skill the sport demanded.

Vincent glared at that name on the back of his girlfriend’s jersey as he grumbled ten steps behind. “Bolton, can really get this foot up his as—”

Ding!

Maria pulled out her phone, seeing a text from her favorite little ass kisser.

“What is it?” Chloe asked when she could see the wheels turning in Maria’s evil head.

“Girls, we are going to need a whole lot of glitter.”

An upset Matthias cheered up when they got off the elevator at the basement floor. “Thank you, God.”

Throwing a look at Lucca, Dominic didn’t know how much clearer he needed to make it. Herded down the hallway, he had to be practically shoved through the door. “I told you I didn’t want—”
