Surrender Dorothy (Kinky Oz 2) - Page 32

How to create. How to heal. Most importantly, how to make sure nothing like this ever happened again. Just as there was a spell for unmaking, there was a spell of protection that no one could ever undo. What the clans became would be up to them from now on, not the GW.

“Aunt Glin, are you sure? This is a lot to give up.”

Aden lifted her aunt up in his arms, his impatience clear for all to see. Glinda laughed. The most carefree sound Dorothy had ever heard escape her lips. She looked younger too. Happy. “I’m sure.”

“Uncle Aden has the right idea. Although before we go, I’d like someone to fill me in on what I missed.” Z’s curious tone had the rest of the room chuckling as the older couple disappeared in a burst of wind that died away instantly.

Dorothy wrapped her arms around his neck. “Let’s just say we’ll have an interesting bedtime story to tell our children.”

Z smiled. “Never keep a wizard waiting, witch.”

Dorothy smiled and kissed him, oblivious of the people around them. Her family.

“They finally let me and Braxi in, can you believe it? We’ve been outside this whole time. What did I miss?”

Emily.

Z and Dorothy separated and looked into each other’s eyes, knowing it would be a while before they were alone again.

“A lot,” Kansas answered for them. “Dorothy’s my cousin. She’s also the new GW of Oz, and when she has little wizard babies they’ll call you Auntie Em. Get it? Auntie Em.”

Emily started giggling, much to the confused chagrin of Braxim and the king.

“Your sister isn’t going back to California, is she?” Z’s voice was resigned. Dorothy just shook her head with a laugh, pulling him in for another long kiss.

She’d tell him about the saddle later.

“I’m glad I came back to save the day. I think a celebration is in order. And a feast. A fish feast maybe. Hello? Anybody? You can’t have a happy ending without some good fish. Maybe a little pinch of catnip?”

Suki sighed as the three remaining couples ignored her in favor of a serious mass make-out session. “Okay, fine. I’ll go get the fish.”

She gestured toward Glinda’s brother and they walked together toward the kitchens, neither of them able to stop smiling. Things had gone exactly according to plan. Well, not exactly, but the end results were the same. Peace in the kingdom, love all around and she could finally wear heels again.

So what if she got more attention as a housecat? She was going to have a blast helping Kansas develop his abilities in between playing with Dorothy’s future children. Oh, and there was one thing she’d really missed about being a Felix that no amount of sardines could top.

Mating season. “Meow.”

Emerson sent her a scandalized glance. “Suki. Behave yourself.”

Never gonna happen.
