Unbelievable (Haven Falls 2) - Page 48

I get my legs in, but now comes the challenge of standing up without pulling Tully over. She grabs my arms and hauls me up off the bed, making us both tip forward but somehow we manage to stay on our feet.

“Fuck, yeah,” Tully cheers, pulling the bottom part of the pants up to where it sits under both our boobs.

“Holy shit,” I laugh. “I can’t believe we actually fit.”

“Yep, just goes to show what a fat ass Noahsaurus is.”

I roll my eyes as we stand in the pants, completely unable to move. “Now what? How do we get around?”

“Umm,” she looks down at our restricted legs. “You jump, then I jump.”

“Wait. Wouldn’t it be better if we jump together?”

“I don’t fucking know,” she laughs as we give it a try.

“What the hell are you two idiots doing?” a familiar voice questions with nothing but an intense amusement in her tone.

Tully and I whip our heads around to find her mom, as let’s face it, it’s not like we can turn around right now. Violet watches us with concern, probably wondering if we’ve finally gone insane. “We’re testing a theory,” Tully explains.

“Oh, yeah. I’d like to hear this,” Violet grumbles under her breath. “Please, do share.”

“The theory is that Noah is a fat ass, and what do you know, we were right?”

“Who’s calling me a fat ass?” comes Noah’s deep rumbly voice from somewhere in the house, making my stomach swirl with butterflies, just as it does every time he’s near. I didn’t realize he was back from doing…well, who the hell knows what he was doing.

I hear not only his footfalls in the hallway, but someone else’s and realize he must be with Rivers, and the fact they’re making their way down here has both me and Tully scrambling to get out of these damn sweatpants.

To be honest, with four legs in the one pair of pants, getting out of them is not as easy as it sounds.

“Oh, shit,” Tully squeaks, realizing just as well as I do that in this position, we’re sitting ducks. “Hurry up.”

The boys appear in the doorway and wicked grins instantly plaster across their faces. They don’t even need to look at each other to know what the other is thinking. The opportunity is just too good.

They storm through the door, practically barging Violet out of the way as Tully squeals, terrified for her life.

“Nooooo,” I laugh, trying to swat Noah away while Tully becomes so overcome by laughter, she ends up tipping us both over. Rivers catches the two of us and it’s by sheer luck that I don’t end up smacking my head against the foot of the bed.

Noah swoops in like my knight in shining ink and slips his hands under my back and legs while Rivers does the same with Tully.

The boys walk us out of Tully’s room and towards the front door where Tully immediately starts flopping around like a fish out of water in Rivers’ arms. “Don’t you dare take us outside,” she warns, but the devilish smirk on both their faces tells me we’re in for an afternoon of embarrassment. Though, right now I’d probably endure just about any type of embarrassment if it meant staying in Noah’s arms just a little longer, despite the fact that I’m wedged in a pair of sweatpants and looking like Tully’s Siamese twin.

The boys march us out the front of the house and if reading each other’s minds, they head straight for the lamp post out near the curb.

They put us down and wriggle us around until we’re practically back to back with the lamp post between us. Rivers spreads his big arms out, wrapping them around the two of us and holding us still while Noah hurries away, probably so we can’t escape. Though, I don’t know where he thinks we could possibly go. Moving right now seems damn impossible.

“Oh, no, no, no,” I squawk as I see Noah emerge from the garage with a shit eating grin spreading so far across his face, I fear it will split it in two. He holds up a roll of duct tape and just like that, I realize my afternoon is going to be spent right here in this very spot.

“What?” Tully demands, trying to crane her neck around to see Noah but from the opposite side of the post and Rivers massive body squished into our sides, she’s doesn’t see Noah until it’s already too late.

The duct tape gets curled around us. Around and around until we are literally covered from our shoulders down to our toes. “How the hell are we supposed to get out of this?” Tully groans as the boys stand back and admire their handiwork.

Noah shrugs his shoulders and flashes that proud, irritating smirk that he reserves only for his sister. “Not my problem, is it?”
