Changing Seasons - Page 51

My arms encircled her, one hand on the small of her back and the other resting on her exposed thigh. “As long as you’re smiling, Sassy Baby. Enjoying yourself?” The more I caressed her thigh the more she relaxed, sinking into my lap.

Her gaze traveled over my face and searched my eyes. “I missed you. I missed you so much, Pi.” Grinding until she felt what she liked to sit on, she bit her lip grinning. “And I miss him too.”

Ah, there she goes. Sassy Vixen had stepped into the building. “I missed you more, baby. Come.” She leaned in but not close enough. “Closer, Sassy.” Her eyes darkened as she leaned in crashing our lips together.

“Paxton.” Her moan caused me to moan.

“Yes, baby. Tell me what you want.”

She gripped my arm tight. “I want… I want,” she mumbled between each kiss.

“Tell me what you want.”

“I want…ahhh,” She screamed in my mouth before hopping up. “OMG. My favorite song.” I didn’t know whether to be pissed at Bruno or her. How is she gon hop up and leave me painfully straining against my pants?

Two hours later we were finally walking out hand in hand. She lazily leaned her head on my arm talking nonstop about the concert.

“What do you have a taste for?”

“Pancakes and waffles. Umm, pizza. No wings. Pancakes and wings.”

I chuckled. “I got you, pretty girl.”

She wrapped her upper body around my arm as I drove. “Are you nervous about tomorrow?”

“Nope. Are you? You don’t have to do this, Jacolby. My mother is a grown woman.”

Tomorrow Jacolby and my mother were meeting for brunch to talk. I was shocked when she told me my mom reached out to her wanting to make amends or whatever bullshit she said. At first, I was against it. Nothing positive, in my opinion, would come from them talking but I had to remember that things were different for everyone across the board this go around. My lady and I had a clear line of communication so the same issues from the past weren’t going to make a comeback this time.

“I know I don’t have to do anything but at the end of the day, she’s your mother. God has extended us some major grace so I think the same can be given to her but if she pops off and gets disrespectful.” She shrugged. “At least we tried. She can’t blame no one else but herself if she can’t get over her pride and selfishness to love her son.”

“I don’t deserve you, Jacolby.” I kissed the palm of her hand.

It was true. I didn’t deserve her but I’m glad God thought I did. Now when it comes to my mother…hell nah she doesn’t deserve an opportunity to show her ass once again but I’m trying to be optimistic.

Leaning over the middle console she kissed all over my face until I gripped her jaw and sucked that tongue in my mouth. She liked to tease until I turned the heat up too much for her to handle.

“You’re perfect for me as I am perfect for you. Our dysfunction is the glue that holds us together. Ain’t no getting rid of me this time. Like, I will gather Pi and all his African Parrot friends to do you bodily harm.”

I laughed. “Your threats turn me on.” I winked.

“Yeah, and grits boil by being turned on as well.”

My eyes bucked. “Sassy Baby, why are you so violent?”

She shrugged. “Reese and Jalonie are rubbing off on me.”

Placing my truck in park I leaned over kissing her nose. “Don’t touch that door.”

When I made it to her side and opened her door, she had her arms up and legs swinging. “Carry me.” She raised her hands.

“Spoiled.” I pecked her lips before lifting her into my arms.

Wrapping her arms around my neck she kissed my cheek. “But you like it though.”

“Nah, I love it, baby.”
