Of Fae and Hate - Page 9

“Anything you’d like.”

I grin. “Finally, something good about this damn school.”

Clemmen lets out a snort. “I’m not going to take any offense to that.”

I only grin at her before turning my attention back to the sprite.

“Okay, cool, so can I get a pizza with pineapples, ham, and onions.”

“Of course, and to drink?”

“Surprise me, but no tea.”

“Yes ma’am, your order will be out shortly.” The little sprite flickers out.

Feeling eyes on me, I look up to find Clemmentime’s nose scrunched up as she watches me.

“What?” I ask, wondering if there’s something on my face. I scrub at it, just to be sure.

“You can get any damn thing in the world and you not only choose that fucked up hawiann pizza attrocity, but you then proceed to add onions to it.” She makes a fake gagging sound, not caring when people from surrounding tables turn to look at her.

It solidifies that she’s definitely going to be a good friend to have once we get to know each other better.

Zo lets out a giggle.

“Of course, and what did you pick, since you seem to have horrible taste?” I ask her.

“Well me,” she places a hand on her chest, “like as sensible person, I ordered-”

Her words cut off and her eyes widen as Zo lets out a screech just as something slams into the back of my head. Pain screams through my skull and my hair feels wet as I jerk forward.

I climb to my feet, putting a hand to my scalp and confirming that there’s something wet and sticky in it. I pull my hand out, revealing a noodle at the same time that my feet go sliding from underneath me.

“Fuck,” I groan out.

“What the fuck was that for?” Clemmentime explodes, getting up from her seat.

I look up to find out who she’s yelling at and I’m unsurprised to find Soskia standing a few feet away, staring at her manicured nails. I look at the tray sitting a couple of inches away from me with mashed spaghettis on it and I quickly put the pieces together.

That stupid bitch.

She may be rose gold, but by the time I’m done with her, she’s going to be bloody red.

I get to my feet, being careful not to slip in the mess again, because it’s definitely not going to get me any cool points. I stride toward Soskia who looks up with a bored expression. She’s so fucking non chalant and calm that I almost expect her to yawn.

There’s a whole fucking clique of girls standing behind her, just like the first time I saw her. They’re all wearing varied expressions from shock to amusement.

“What is this? High school?” I ask, coming to a stop just in front of Soskia. My fingers twitch, the urge to scratch her eyes out overwhelming.

“Last time I checked, it was an academy for special fae, and well…” she gives me a disgusted once over, “there’s nothing extraordinary about you from what I can see.”

“You won’t be seeing shit in a moment when I rip your eyes from their sockets.”

“I’d like to see you try, frizz-puff,” she gives a pointed look at my hair.

“Great, so you’re a fucking texturist as well.”

Her face twists in genuine confusion this time. “A what?”
