Best Friend's Secret Baby - Page 19

SUNNY

My eyes flutteropen when something gently brushes against my lips. “Morning, Sunshine,” Mack says the second my eyes are open. His finger is now tracing up and down my jaw. I lean into his touch.

How many times have I dreamed of this being my life? Not only am I waking up in bed with Mack naked, but we’re married, and his baby is inside my belly.

“Were you watching me sleep?”

“Yes, I didn’t want to wake you, but I wanted you to wake up.” I snort a laugh.

“Pregnant women need their sleep, but I was missing you.”

“That’s really kind of sweet.” Once we got home last night, it was all kind of a blur. One round of sex led into another. Neither of us could keep our hands off of each other.

“We’re married.”

“It was a long time coming.” Mack leans in and kisses me. “Now I can watch you sleep and not worry about getting caught,” he says as he untangles our legs and slips from the bed. I stare openly, taking in every inch of him. I still have no idea how he fits inside of me, but it works.

“Wait. Are you saying you sneakily used to watch me sleep?” He ignores my question and asks one of his own.

“You want a shower before we go to the parents’ for brunch?” He doesn’t wait for me to answer. He plucks me from the bed and carries me into the bathroom.

“You didn’t answer my question.”

“Yeah, I like to watch you sleep. I watch everything you do, Sunshine.” He flips on the shower and pulls me in with him. “All these years we’ve wasted. I could have been washing you every morning.” His hands roam over my body.

“How long has it been for you, Mack?” I ask, wondering when things changed for him.

“How long has what been?”

“That you’ve wanted to be more than friends? Was it really all the way back in high school?” I know for me it was, but I really was surprised when he told me he’d felt the same all those years ago.

“I’ve always wanted to be more than friends with you, Sunshine. I knew you were my girl from the very start.” His hand comes to rest over my stomach. “The moment I saw you, I knew you’d be the girl I had it all with one day or I didn’t want any of it.”

“But you do want that? The kids and everything that comes with that?” Mack turns me around and starts to wash my hair. Over the past few years, I didn’t think Mack wanted those things with anyone. Work was always his number one. He was almost obsessive about it.

“I want anything you’ll give me, Sunshine.” My eyes fall closed as he washes every inch of me. I want to ask him more, but his hands are too distracting. They’re all I can think about.

“My turn.” I do the same to him, taking my time.

“Sunshine,” Mack growls when I wrap my hand around his cock and start to stroke him.

“What? I’m cleaning you.”

“Your pussy needs a break.” His eyes become heavy lidded as I continue to stroke him. I am a little sore from last night, but there are other things we can do.

“My mouth isn’t sore,” I say before dropping to my knees in front of him.

“Don’t want you on your knees.” I watch an inner battle play out in his eyes.

“You’ve never had a blowjob, have you, Mack?” The man’s face has been planted between my thighs obsessively lately. It’s only fair that I return the pleasure.

“I don’t need a blowjob when I can have your pussy.”

“You just said it needed a break.” I brush my mouth against the head of his cock.

“What if you can’t breathe properly and it affects the baby?” A giggle bubbles free of me. I can already see how this pregnancy is going to go. I ignore him, taking his cock into my mouth, getting my way. I normally do when it comes to Mack.

We don’t stop at the blowjob. We end up back in the bed with Mack licking me to my own orgasm. It’s not until both of our phones are blowing up that we remember we’re late for brunch. If we don’t get over there, they’ll show up here.

“Are you sure your parents are going to be okay with all this?” I wring my fingers together as we make the drive over to their place.

“Our parents,” Mack corrects. He’s been doing that a lot recently. I know he said he and his mom were planning our wedding the other day, but that didn’t make any sense. I mean, it did for a second when I thought Mack knew I was pregnant. I was sure that was the only reason they’d be planning a wedding for us.

“Were Mom and you really planning our wedding the other day?”

“No.”

“Then why did you say that?”

“I don’t know why I do a lot of shit when it comes to you, Sunshine. I’m hoping now that you’re mine in all ways, I’ll start to be a bit more rational.”

“I’m not sure I believe that. I mean, think about Eric and Brian.” His grip on the steering wheel tightens.

“All right. I might have jealousy issues.”

“You do know I don’t want anyone else, right?” I reach over and plant my hand on his thigh. Thankfully I never had to worry about seeing him with anyone else. Not that I think he would have after learning how he feels about me, but if Mack wasn’t at work, he was with me. “It’s only been you for me too.” I think we’ve both proved that point over the years.

“I still need to handle that prick Brian,” he mutters under his breath.

“Mack.” I smack his thigh as he pulls into the driveway. Anxiety shoots through my body when I realize we’re here. Felicia and Richard mean so much to me. They are my family.

“Told you. Mom did the setups to get our heads out of our asses. She wants us to be together,” he reassures me while putting the car into park. He hops out, jogging around to open the door for me. I take his hand. He pulls me out, placing his other hand on my stomach before he kisses me until I melt into him and relax. “There is nothing to be scared of. You’re not going to lose anyone because we’re never breaking up. Look at us. We weren’t even officially together and we were still together.” He’s right. He said for him, it was me or no one. It has always been the same for me too.

“I love you.”
