Best Friend's Secret Baby - Page 9

MACK

“Nina, this event is so fun!”cries Sandra Bennington as she runs toward us, her hands outstretched. My date beams and catches the other girl in her arms.

“Thank you for saying that. I thought people would find the games dumb. Some people”—she casts an evil look in the direction of her stepbrother, who is trying very hard not to stare at Nina’s chest, which is about to fall out of her dress—“were very skeptical of it all.”

“Eric, why are you so dour all the time?” Sandra slaps the man across his biceps. He doesn’t move. “This is supposed to be fun. It’s for charity.” She reaches out her hand to hit me, but I’ve had enough of all this social contact. If one more society woman comes up and rubs her tits on my arm, I’m going to lose it.

“He was born dour,” replies Nina.

Over her head, Sunny’s eyes meet mine. I jerk my head to the side and then separate myself from Nina. She doesn’t notice as she’s too intent on arguing with Eric.

“Lots of sexual tension there,” I say to Sunny as she joins me.

“They’re siblings,” she counters, but I can see confusion on her face. She recognizes something is going on between the two but can’t quite pinpoint what. I help her out.

“He wants to fuck her. Thought he was going to take my head off when we walked in.”

Sunny wrinkles her nose. “Really? I thought you were the one growling.”

“That was before I realized he was hot after his sister.”

“Stepsister.”

“Whatever.”

“It makes a difference,” she insists.

“Hey, Mack, who do we have here?”

I look over to see some faintly recognizable dude with his eyes pinned to Sunny’s tits. I reach out and slap his cheek. Lightly. “None of your damn business.”

The man’s hand comes up to his cheek. “Did you just slap me? For wanting to say hello?”

“Garrett, right?” I suddenly remember his name. “Yeah, I did slap you, and you should be glad about it because I could’ve punched you, but I held back. Now get along.”

“Damn.” He shakes his head and backs away. Another guy comes over and opens his mouth to say hello, but Garrett stops him. “Don’t. Mack’s in a mood.”

“Is it your time of the month?” Sunny teases.

“When it comes to you, yes.”

Sunny’s bright face falls. “I didn’t realize I was such a downer.”

“Fuck, that’s not what I meant.”

She pastes on a fake smile. “I need to use the restroom,” she says, and then scurries away.

I grab her arm before she can escape and whisk her down the hall.

“Let me go, Mack.” She tries to wriggle free from my grip.

“No. I didn’t mean it like that, and I don’t want you running off nursing some hurt feelings.” I throw open the first door I can find and haul her inside.

Once the door is closed behind me, I let her go.

“You can’t tell me what to feel,” she declares, chin up, eyes glittering.

“No. But maybe I can make you feel something else.” I’m not good with words, but I can do this. I swing her into my arms and capture her mouth with mine. I sweep my tongue across the seam of her lips until she lets me in. I try to be gentle, but the need is so strong, my desire so insistent that I can’t hold back.

I am tired of other men looking at her, thinking they can have her, when she belongs to me. I plunge my tongue deep into her mouth and drag her body flush against mine. My fingers ruck up the delicate silk of her skirt to find a long smooth expanse of leg and then a hot, wet core.

She gasps when I slide my fingers inside her panties. She’s hot for me. She’s wet for me. My cock pulses in mad anticipation.

This is what it felt like that night—the one we don’t talk about. She is ready and wanton. Her leg comes up to rest on my hip. Her fingers delve into my hair to bring my mouth closer. I rub my fingers along the outside of her lips, teasing her, fanning the fire inside her so that she can’t find any relief unless it’s with me.

The door bangs open, and an angry Eric appears in the doorway with Nina in his grip.

Sunny’s head pops up, and her eyes widen in shock. “No.” Her hand comes up to her mouth, and she pushes me away.

“You’re confusing me, Mack, and I don’t need that right now. I need certainty and security, not whatever games you want to play.” She runs to Nina, who twists out of Eric’s grasp.

“Men are assholes,” Nina declares, and then the two run off, their silk skirts waving like flags behind them.

Eric heaves a frustrated sigh and slumps against the door frame.

I glare at the man. I don’t think I’ve wanted to murder anyone more than him in this single moment. I didn’t even get to finger Sunny. I hadn’t even gotten inside of her.

“Those are some brotherly feelings you got there,” I say sourly.

“You have lipstick on your face.”

A quick rub of my hand across my mouth says he’s lying. “You sound jealous.”

“I’m not in a good mood. You shouldn’t test me.”

The thing is, though, if I can’t fuck Sunny, then the only outlet is fighting. “You couldn’t take me if your three brothers were here helping you.”

He pushes away from the door and starts stripping off his suit coat. I shrug mine off and toss it to the side. A rush of adrenaline thrums through me. The first punch is sweet. Not as good as having Sunny in my arms, but it’ll do for now. I grin and launch myself at Eric.
