Falling for Fangs - Page 95

“I feel strangely alive for someone dead,” Chloe said, grinning. “Do I have fangs now?” She put a finger in her mouth, and sure enough, where before there were only well-brushed human canines, she found points sharp enough to pierce just about anything. “Cool!”

Maxwell laughed. “You’ll have to learn to retract them; I’ll help you,” he said. “They do look very sexy, though, so there’s no rush.”

“I’m going to miss having a reflection,” Chloe sighed. “I bet my fangs look badass.”

“Oh, they do,” Maxwell assured her. “So, this wedding planning. I take it you’re not going to choose the caves as a venue.”

“Nope,” Chloe wrinkled her nose. “Even if I don’t need air and can see in the dark, caves are still horrible. But…”

“But what?” Maxwell asked.

“I was thinking, how about a winter wedding?” Chloe said slyly, running a finger down his cheek. “After all, it was pretty romantic, kissing you in the snow.”

“But you hate snow,” Maxwell pointed out.

“Maybe snow’s not so bad,” Chloe said softly. “Especially not if you’re with me.”

“I always will be,” Maxwell promised. “A winter wedding it is, then. And maybe a honeymoon in Vegas?”

“That,” Chloe said. “Sounds like an excellent plan.”
