A Forever Series Box Set: A Paranormal Reverse Harem-(Book 11-15) - Page 434

“Sir?” Synthyia asks and he frowns and brings his concentration back to her.

“What?” he snaps.

She flinches but lifts her chin.

“It is time to dine,” she says stiffly.

“Pass,” he says. He wants to stay here with Delinda. It is the most fun he has had since he can’t even remember when.

“Sir?” she asks now in confusion.

“I said I didn’t want to dine tonight. Have something brought up to my room later. Delinda and I aren’t finished playing yet,” he says, standing up and holding his arm out for her to swoop down onto.

“P-playing?” Synthyia splutters.

He ignores her and tickles Delinda under the chin. He was delighted when Aefre asked him to take her under his wing and to show her the proper way to be a Dragon and not their mother’s dictatorship ways. He will find it regretful when she wants her daughter back because he will have to refuse her. Delinda’s place is here, with him, as his heir.

The child flies off again and perches on the chandelier, causing it to swing from side to side. He can almost see the feral grin on her face as she delights in this game.

Synthyia clutches her chest again as she watches the expensive crystal swaying dangerously and it makes him hide his smile. Oh, this child has brought him so much happiness. He feels like he can live again. Being forced back here after the Demon race had to evolve on their own was torture. Living in secret, never allowed out of the Realm, was the worst punishment for him. His mother never understood his need to live to the fullest extent of what he was capable of. Part of him thinks She resented him for it. Killing Her had been the best thing he had ever done.

Now, all he has to do is convince Aefre that her child belongs here.

“Mmph,” he mutters as he feels a stab to his heart. No, a Dragon is being killed! How? Where? Who?

He closes his eyes and focuses his entire concentration on finding out the source of his pain. His eyes fly open and he glances up at Delinda. Her mother.

“Stay with her,” he orders Synthyia. “If anything befalls her in my absence….” The threat lingers.

“But, sir…she…I….” She glances up at the celling with a gulp. She knows she will die by his hand if even a scale on Delinda’s hide is damaged when he gets back.

He Astrals off to Earth, hoping that his senses are wrong and that it was not his sister that was murdered. Although, it would make things easier for him and Delinda, he would never wish any harm to come to her. In his own way, he loves her.

He lands in a crowded bedroom, filled with anguished cries and rage. He steps over the very dead, decapitated, de-limbed body of a Druid woman to stare directly at his sister, the twin Dragon-slayer’s sword sticking out of her chest.

He closes his eyes in pain and then he steps forward to take control of the situation.

Prologue

Place Unknown, January 2015 - Aefre

“Aefre, Aefre. Come towards the light.”

I blink, the white light hurting my eyes. For a split second, I think I am in the Light Fae Kingdom, but soon that is squashed as I feel peace. The sense of tranquility washes over me and my tense shoulders relax. A soft smile plays at my lips.

“Come,” a beautiful blonde woman gestures to me, waving me towards her. She is dressed in an ethereal white robe with a blinding white light behind her.
