A Forever Series Box Set: A Paranormal Reverse Harem-(Book 11-15) - Page 84

“I wasn’t,” he says, holding his hands up. “But if this is your ultimate plan, to bring her here to be safe, you need to be absolutely certain of this course, Aeval.”

His serious tone makes me pause. He has a point. “Well, there are no guarantees,” I venture and then I crumple into a big heap. “I just want to hold my baby in my arms, Seb. Why can no one understand that?” I cry.

He drops to his knees next to me and cradles me against him. “We do, my love. But this has taken over your life. Everyone is on edge around you and is afraid of saying the wrong thing in case you take their head off.”

“Am I obsessed?” I ask. “CK keeps saying this is an obsession.”

“You are a little obsessed,” Sebastian admits with a smile to soften the blow. “But you have a right to be. It’s your daughter.”

“Thank you,” I sniffle, and he produces a hanky out of thin air for me. “You do get it.”

“I get you,” he says. “One of these days you will accept that.”

I sigh and sink into his embrace and just let him hold me while I calm myself. “Are you sure she doesn’t hate me?” I ask suddenly.

“Who? Pyleah? No, of course not. She was mildly surprised to have you thrust upon her without prior warning, but she doesn’t hate you, Aeval. What happened wasn’t your fault and she knows that,” he says.

“But still, she must harbor some sort of resentment towards me. Her husband died because of me,” I press.

“No, he died because of himself,” Sebastian says vehemently. “Trust me, Aeval, you have nothing to worry about. If she can forgive me for killing her second born, then you are free and clear.”

I blink up at him. It had slipped my mind momentarily that he did kill Thrace, because of me again.

“She understands the bigger picture, Aeval. And neither my father, nor Thrace, treated her very well. I think deep down she is glad to be rid of them,” he says grimly.

“Oh,” I say and leave it at that. Once again, I am left wondering why the Dark Fae seem so much more civilized to me than the Light.

“So,” he says, helping me up. “I think it is time for you to go home and get some rest.”

I nod dutifully.

“Do you promise?” he asks sternly.

“Yes, I promise,” I say, and I mean it. I am beyond exhausted. All I needed was someone to be on my side, no questions asked, no demands and no accusations. I feel that with Sebastian’s support, I can finally rest and then tomorrow I will have fresh eyes.

“Good girl,” he murmurs and kisses me deeply. He wants more from me and I want to give it to him, but he pulls away and squeezes my hands. “Go now, before I change my mind.”

I puffport myself back home and dump the maps on the desk. The room is empty and tidy. Almost like someone purposefully went around and fixed it up. I can only imagine wh

at happened when I left CK and Vito alone. Stupid idiot. Of course they went at it like pit bulls. But I just can’t deal with it right now. Now that I have agreed to rest, I want it, I need it. If I don’t close my eyes soon, I am going to keel over from exhaustion. But I don’t want to go upstairs or anywhere in this house where drama awaits me. I close my eyes and Astral to the only place where I will find peace.

Chapter 3

The Light Fae Kingdom, July 2014 – Sebastian

“Oh, Seb,” she murmurs as she takes him in her hand. He groans as his wife wraps her tongue around his cock.

“I love you, Aeval,” he says as he stares into her cool, green eyes. He gets even harder as she keeps her eyes on his while she sucks him off.

She pulls her hot mouth away and then she straddles him, placing him roughly inside her as she grinds down hard on him. He takes her by the hands and then he gasps. Her wrists are slashed wide open and the last of her blood is dripping down onto his chest. He looks up into her eyes and icy blue ones stare back at him.

“You did this to me,” Jess says to him as she rides him hard. “You killed me, Sebastian.”

“No,” he says, shaking his head. “It wasn’t me; I didn’t want this to happen.”

“You killed me,” Jess says again. “You killed me.”

Sebastian’s eyes fly open and he sits upright. He is sweating and his heart is racing. He also still has a raging hard-on from the start of his dream where he was with Aefre. But then she turned into Jess. He has had this recurring dream for weeks now. Not every night, but enough to make him not want to sleep anymore. He doesn’t understand where all of this guilt has come from. He has done far worse to people closer to him than that girl, but he just cannot seem to shake this act from his conscience. It is like she is haunting him from beyond the grave. Worming her way into his thoughts and messing with his head.
