Love Me Harder (Welcome to Cupids Cove) - Page 8

It may have been fast, but we’re happy, and I wouldn’t change that for a thing. I waited my whole life for this woman. For this moment and it was well worth the wait. I am so freaking glad that I waited for my wife, a woman who waited for her husband. Like I said, I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering how the hell I got so lucky.

ONE YEAR LATER

“Positive,” I whisper as I look down at the stick on the counter. I’m in my private bathroom just inside of my office. I haven’t been able to concentrate all morning. Eventually, my assistant ran over to the hospital pharmacy and picked a pregnancy test for me. I can’t believe it’s positive. Finally, we’ve been trying since the day we met, and nothing was happening. This morning felt different. I was beginning to think that there was something wrong with me, despite my doctor saying there wasn’t. Then I thought it was God, but Evan assured me that wasn’t the case either. When the justice of the peace married us last year, I couldn’t wait to be a mother. It wasn’t something I had ever thought about before, but Evan brought it out in me. He brought out this primal urge I didn’t even know I possessed.

Leaving work four hours early, I head home. I moved in with Evan right away. Our little parsonage house, it’s such an old-fashioned name for the place the church pays for, is right next to the church. We love the house and what we call it.

“Evan?” I call as soon as I open the door.

“In the office,” he calls.

“What are you doing?” I ask, leaning against the door jam.

“Trying to write my sermon for Sunday. You know how I wait until the last minute. Well, this week, nothing is coming. What should I discuss?”

“Fire and brimstone?” I ask, giggling as I walk further into the room.

“Nah, I did that last week.”

“How about new life for the Lord?”

“New life for the Lord? That’s a weird way of saying that.”

“What am I saying?”

“Something about baptism?”

“No, not yet at any rate,” I hedge, moving closer to his desk.

“What then?”

“I’m pregnant,” I say.

“What?” he asks, looking up from his laptop.

“We’re going to have a baby. I just found out and came straight home to tell you.”

He stands up and moves around his desk to stand in front of me. He puts his hands on my still flat belly. I put my hands on top of his, and we stand there, just like that, for a long time.

“I’m so happy, wife. I’m so happy.”

“Me too.” Then he kisses me, and the world stops spinning, just like it always does. He’s on his knees, and I don’t know how our kiss got so heated and passionate that we can’t even go the extra hundred feet to our bedroom. We end up naked, in the middle of his office floor. His cock is buried nine inches deep inside me, just where it belongs.

“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he groans, looking down at me. I reach my hand up and touch his cheek.

“Love me harder,” I demand, and he fucks into me harder.

“Always,” he answers, another one of our little things.

If you’d have told me a year ago that I’d be married with a baby on the way, I wouldn’t have believed you. If you had told me I would be so in love that I can’t imagine my life without him, I wouldn’t have thought that either.

Life with Evan has been everything I dreamed of and so much more. Even Sean and his bride come and visit us in Cupid’s Cove. How they came to be is quite the story, but that is theirs to tell. I don’t have much to do with the family business these days, but I still make sure everyone gets their 1099s. Accounting issues really are how the mafia gets taken down, and Sean trusts no one but me to handle it.

I can’t wait to see what comes next with Evan and me. It’s gonna be amazing, I just know it.

EVAN

TEN YEARS LATER

VALENTINE’S DAY

“Love me harder,” she shouts as I slam into her tight pussy over and over. This is the third time I’ve taken her tonight. It’s not often she gets to be so vocal, but our daughter, Portia, is with her cousins this weekend. It’s our anniversary, and we have been celebrating with champagne and sex all night long. Earlier, we went to the now annual Sweetheart’s Dance, where we chaperoned Portia dancing with a little boy from her class. He came and picked her up, and we walked down to the dance together. He held her little hand the whole way. I was not ready for that, but even I had to admit that it was freaking adorable.
