Claiming His Christmas Tree Topper - Page 13

She’s favoring the left side for some reason. I think it’s because it's closer to her bed. She’ll see this side more.

“I know what I doin’, Mommy.” She gives me a sassy look, and I know how my husband feels when I give him the same look.

“This is a mess.”

“What?” She spins around, almost dropping the glittered ornament in her hand.

“I’ve never seen anything like it, sugar,” I quickly say. Nothing. It truly is a rarity. My husband's idea of putting a tree in her room was clearly brilliant. We can shut the door.

“I get it from you,” my girl chirps before going back to putting the decorations on the tree. My heart warms. I never knew this kind of love until Nicky came into my world.

“That thing secure?” I do not need it falling over, not only crushing her but her heart too. She has a delicate one like me.

“Yes.” Nicky lets out another deep chuckle. “Relax.” He rubs his hand across my stomach, making our son give a firm kick. Nicky’s eyes widen before a smile lights up his handsome face. I thought he was an incredible husband, but he’s a damn good father too.

“I suppose I should go get ready. Your sister will be here soon.”

“I’ll get her ready for bed,” he says.

I turn my head, giving my husband a kiss before I walk over to say goodnight to my Christmas baby. I can’t believe she’s already almost four. I’d gotten pregnant rather quickly after Nick and I got married on Christmas Eve. Almost a year later, our little girl came screaming into the world. She made it clear she would not be missing Christmas. She might not be the best tree decorator yet, but she loves the holiday as much as I do.

“I love you, sweetie. You be good for your aunt, okay?”

“Of course. I’m not going to be on the naughty list like Daddy is always saying you’re on.”

I bite back a laugh. “He’s only teasing. I’m not naughty.”

“If you are, I'm sure Daddy would still get you presents.” This time there is no holding back my laughter.

“I will make sure Mommy is taken care of,” Nicky reassures her. I give her one last kiss before I head toward the bedroom to change into my dress for the night.

I loved our place in the city, but as Cindy started to get older, both Nicky and I wanted to have a home with a bit of land. I think we both had an idea in our mind about a more traditional place, especially with how both of us grew up. Family is everything to the both of us, and we agreed when we welcomed Cindy into the world, we wanted to grow our family. We’ll need a lot of space for that.

Nicky has even pulled back and works a lot from home nowadays. With as fast as my stomach was growing this pregnancy, I wasn’t getting to do as many trees as I did the year before, but I was still able to design and send my handful of teams out to do them for me. It’s not some high-powered career, but I love it, and it gives me the freedom I want to be a wife and mother—my true passion.

“What the hell is that?” Nicky growls when he steps into the bedroom, shutting the door behind him.

“It’s my dress. Why?” I run my fingers down the red velvet material. It fits me like a second skin, showing off my baby bump.

“You’re not wearing that.” I roll my eyes, not irritated at all. I love when he gets all jealous. I can’t help it. It’s why I picked the dress.

“You’re the one making me go to a holiday party for a company I was fired from.”

“You’re never going to let that go, are you?”

“Nope.” I smirk.

“You own the place too.” He wraps his arms around me, pulling me in for a kiss. “I don’t know if we’re going to end up making it.” He pulls at my dress, pushing it up my body.

“We have to.” He edges me closer to the bed.

“Then I at least want a Christmas treat before we leave. I need the smell of your pussy on my face. It might help keep my jealous temper at bay tonight.”

“Liar.” He can never keep it at bay, and I don’t want him to.

He sits me down on the edge of the bed, my dress bunched all the way up. He drops to his knees on the side of the bed, another deep growl leaving him.

“No panties.” His fingers dig into my thighs as he spreads them, ready to feast on me.

“Oops. I guess I forgot. Hard to see over the bump,” I lie.

“I love you, wife, but you’ll pay for this one,” he says before his mouth descends on me. I’ll pay in the best of ways, and we both know it.
