One Night with Gael (Rival Brothers 2) - Page 56

Then he frowned at her. ‘You’re giving away all the money?’

‘All of it.’

‘And did you happen to discuss divorce with this attorney while you were getting this done?’ he demanded, his eyes still a touch wild.

‘No, Gael. I didn’t. The D-word didn’t once pass my lips. You said to find a way. I found a way.’

He exhaled, his breath decidedly shaky as he bunched up the document and flung it over his shoulder. ‘Why the hell didn’t you say that?’

‘You were on a roll. I tried to stop you, but you seemed intent on flattening me.’

He paced in a tight circle without once taking his eyes off her. ‘Dios mio. Why do I you let you drive me so crazy?’ he seethed quietly.

She shrugged. ‘You drive yourself crazy. You don’t need my help.’

He gave a deep, vicious growl before he lunged for her. Fingers spiked into her hair, angled her head, a nanosecond before his mouth smashed down on hers. He kissed her hungrily, deeply, then ripped his mouth from hers a minute later.

‘You found a way?’ he whispered roughly.

‘I found a way.’

He leaned his forehead against hers, his eyes boring into her own. ‘Does that mean you want to be with me, Goldie?’ he demanded, his voice hoarse with need. ‘Truly be mine?’

‘Yes,’ she replied simply.

Because her need for him was that simple. She’d been a fool to imagine that she could erase it out of the equation—that she would be content to sleep next door to him for five long years. Even if it were true that Gael would tire of her after six short weeks, she was still going to take that time with him.

The kiss he delivered after her answer in the affirmative was bliss-inducing. Her purse fell off her shoulder and was forgotten. The hem of her sundress was gripped in a tight hold, pulled over her head and dropped to the floor, leaving her in the white bikini set she’d planned to wear for lounging by the poolside that morning.

Gael caressed his way down her jaw, her throat and shoulders. Cupping those, he turned her around and groaned, low and deep.

‘Amante, you’re so beautiful.’

The throaty words drew a delicious shiver from her, making her tremble in his arms. His fingers catching the long ties of her bikini top, he pulled them free and turned her around. Eyes turned burnished gold devoured her seconds before his hands resumed their caress. A deeper tremble seized her as he cupped her breasts and squeezed. Her hand rose to grip his waist.

She needed to hold on to him. It was a desire and a necessity. Her gaze rose to meet his and her breath caught at the ferocious hunger in his eyes. Unable to resist, she stood on tiptoe and pressed her mouth to his. His hands left her breasts to gather her close. He groaned when her chest pressed into his. Clever fingers made short work of the bottom half of the bikini. Then, naked, she was once again caught in his arms.

After an age of glorious kissing, Gael picked her up and carried her to his king-sized bed. Quick and efficient movements relieved him of his clothes and then he prowled onto the bed, sleek and magnificent next to her.

From cheek to neck, cleavage to midriff, every inch of her skin was covered in open-mouthed kisses, while over and over his fingers drifted over her abdomen where their baby nestled.

Suddenly he snapped his head up, eyes narrowed. ‘Did you take your prenatal vitamins this morning?’ he asked.

Goldie curbed the need to smile. ‘Yes.’

A brisk nod. ‘Did you have a good breakfast?’

‘Yes.’

He completed another circling caress over her belly. ‘Are you hungry now? The pregnancy book says you should eat little and often. Can I get you anything?’

She suppressed a groan of frustration, sliding her hands over his shoulders, glorying in the muscles that bunched at her touch. ‘I’m fine, Gael. I don’t need anything. No—actually, scratch that. I need you. Only you.’

His grin was full and unfettered, snagging a tight string around her heart. Bending his head, he placed a deep, reverent kiss on her belly before he began to kiss his way lower.

Goldie tried and failed to stop the hot blushes that rolled over her at the expert attention he delivered between her legs. Much too soon she was crying out and soaring high. Still buzzing, she moaned as he rose over her, kissed her lips and caught her hands together above her head.

‘Open your legs for me, querida,’ he commanded throatily.
