God of Temptation (Immortal Matchmakers, Inc) - Page 53

That’s my Tula. Always looking at the bright side of things. Zac had to admit, he found it sexy.

Zac loosened his bow tie and removed his black satin jacket, placing it over the back of the chair by the window. He caught Tula’s reflection in the mirrored wall. Yes, he had a mirror wall. The old bachelor pad was about to get remodeled of course, but for the moment he was enjoying the view of his new wife with her blonde hair spread out on the bed. Her dress was, well, a giant poufy ball of white lace. She sort of looked like she was trapped in a big bubble.

I love Tula bubbles. It was just like he’d said: if there was a store called All Things Tula, he’d buy everything in it.

He turned and flashed a wolfish smile. “I’m going to take you so hard tonight.”

She raised a blonde brow and propped herself up by the elbows. “Or…maybe I’ll take you.”

“Okay, but don’t wear me out. We have to leave early to catch our flight.” They were going to Greece for their honeymoon. Votan had a villa there and said it had given him and Emma many happy memories. Code for he’d knocked her up good. Tula and he would spend six entire months making love, swimming, sleeping, and not thinking about demons, plagues, or apocalypses.

Tula giggled. “As if I could wear out the God of Male Virility.”

Still in his tux pants—the leather ones Mr. Greystone had made for him—Zac lay down and rolled on top of her. “I thought we agreed not to use my god title anymore. I’m retired now, remember?”

“What if I use it in the bedroom only?”

“Anything for y—” Zac’s phone beeped. He reached for his back pocket and then hesitated.

“It’s okay,” Tula said.

“No, I’m off duty, no longer a slave to the emergencies of humanity.”

“But it could be my parents with a problem or question about their room. They’ve never been in a big city or fancy hotel.” Zac had set them up at the Four Seasons downtown and arranged for all their transportation while they were here sightseeing, since he and Tula would be leaving bright and early. He’d already called their driver to make sure they’d gotten to the hotel okay since they, too, had disappeared with the other guests during the reception.

“I’m sure they’re fine, but I’ll check. If it’s anything other than them, it can wait,” he said.

“Thank you. I’m going to freshen up in the other room.”

Zac rolled off Tula and watched appreciatively as she bounced off to the bathroom.

“Let me know if you need help with that dress!” he called out.

“Nope! I got this!”

Zac smiled and looked at his phone. It was a group message from Ixy, who’d cut out early from the reception to interview a few candidates who’d be responsible for fixing the issue with the trapped immortals.

All: I found our man. He will reach out to set up meetings with each of you so he can gather information and begin work immediately.

Zac’s eyes scanned the screen. Damien Greystone.

“The tailor?” Zac skimmed the man’s résumé. Armed forces, bounty hunter, and supernatural weapons expert? Professional fixer?

“Who is this guy?” Zac never would have guessed that the mild-mannered tailor was some sort of supernatural Ray Donovan.

Weird.

“Anything interesting?” Tula leaned against the doorway, wearing a giant floral dress that covered everything.

“I gotta say, woman, my temptation powers aren’t revving right now, but you do know how to rock that frock.”

“It’s the dress I wore the day we met.”

And she still looked just as tempting.

Zac dropped the phone on the bed and walked over to her, pushing his body flush to hers.

“Well, is everything okay? It wasn’t my parents, was it?” she asked.

“Nope. It was nothing important. Just some last-minute deity business. You have me all to yourself now.”

She beamed up at him with her sky-blue eyes. “I love you, Zac. I’m sorry I doubted you.”

“It’s in the past. All that matters is we’re together.” He slid his hand to the back of her head. “I’m going to make love to you so hard, your head is going to spin.”

“My, my. That sounds a little kinky.” Her cheeks turned red.

“You’re a married woman now. Kinky is allowed.” It was allowed before, too, but Tula was who she was. Prim and proper with a spark of demon and unicorn. And so fucking hot.

His smile melted away. The moment was almost too perfect to believe. She was finally his wife. And after seventy thousand years, he finally had everything he’d ever wanted. Well, except for maybe one thing. “What do you have on under the dress?”

“You’re going to have to find out for yourself. But I promise, you’re going to love it.”
