Caring for the Bratva (Steamy Standalone Instalove) - Page 26

Just in case of what? Something inside me screams. He wants you. He’s not going to take this back. You’re going to be together for the rest of your lives. You need to stop questioning this.

But how the heck can I stop questioning it when it seems too impossible?

“Go on, Daniella,” he growls passionately, his hand rubbing Lucky’s fur, sometimes rising up to his scruff where our touches move over each other, tingles dancing up my arm.

“I think dogs are more intuitive than we give them credit for. Maybe he…”

I trail off as another warning blares in my head.

“Speak your mind with me, Dreamer. Always. Go on.”

“Maybe he sensed how badly we wanted to be together. Maybe he could feel it. I mean, I’ve never felt anything like this before. It’s crazy. And you said you’ve never felt like this before, either.”

“Not even close,” he says definitively.

“So maybe he scented something in the air, a pheromone or something, and he’s decided to play at being Cupid to help us along?”

I expect him to laugh at this, mocking the phrasing, but instead, he nods firmly.

“If you’d told me that yesterday, I would’ve said you were insane. But the way I feel about you – the need I feel to make you mine for the rest of our lives, to flood your needy womb with our children – it’s changed how I see everything. I think you’re right, Daniella. I think we’re meant to be together.”

“And Lucky knows it,” we say at the same time, he grins and I smile widely, our expressions mirroring each other.

“Exactly,” he growls. “But I know something else, too.”

“Hmm?”

“You need to tell me the moment you’re ready,” he growls. “It’s killing me to look at you and not being able to claim you, to claim all of you.”

I nod, nerves buzzing up and down my body. “I will. I promise. It’s just… this is all so sudden. I think I need some time to process it. Is that okay?”

He smirks, shaking his head. “You don’t have to ask my permission. I’ll never force you to do anything you’re not comfortable with. But I will remind you every damn day how sexy you are, and how badly my cock needs to be inside of you.”

He laughs, and standing, shaking his head as he smirks down at me.

“Do you have any idea how difficult it is being around you? I’m trying to stay civilized for Lucky’s sake, but you’ve got me so damn obsessed.”

A flush spreads over me, making my skin tingle.

“Maybe we should do something to calm you down, huh?”

“What do you have in mind?” he asks as both of us watch Lucky pad back over to his toy area, nosing around.

“Well…” My belly chooses that exact moment to let out the mother of all gross gurgling noises, filling the air with its ugly sound. “Oh, God, I’m so sorry.”

He smirks and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around me and pressing down on my hips with his possessive touch.

“You don’t have to apologize for being hungry. How about we have some dinner together? I promise I’ll try my best not to bend you over the table and claim that fresh virgin pussy.”

I grab onto his back with eager hands, squeezing tightly, as desire surges through me, screaming at me to leap on him right now and wrap my legs around him, nerves or no nerves.

“Dinner does sound nice,” I say. “And… and the other thing. Just not yet, okay?”

He nods, an animal look glinting in his eyes, as though he’s silently telling me, Fine, but soon.

Chapter Thirteen

Dominik

We sit in the dining hall, under the gleaming chandelier. We don’t dine at the main dining table, which is long and designed for banquets. The whole room is huge, with a domed patterned ceiling and torch-effect lights set within the walls in gilded brackets.

My Dreamer and I sit at the table in the corner of the room, a small circular one made of oak, more intimate so we can be as close together as possible.

She’s wearing plain black pants and a pink T-shirt, but even those clothes get my blood stirring, especially when I can make out the outline of her bra beneath the T-shirt, begging to be grabbed and pulled sharply, freeing her breasts as I make her mine.

I suppress a growl as she takes a sip of orange juice, offering me a shaky smile like she still can’t believe this is happening.

I know the feeling.

And yet it is, and nothing’s ever going to stop me from pursuing her.

“This place is incredible,” she murmurs, looking around the vastness of the room. “Why did you decide to go so grand?”

I smirk. “You think it’s too much?”

She bites her lip, a flicker of worry moving across her face as she turns her gaze to where Lucky sleeps in the corner, curled into a ball with his snout buried in his body as though he’s purposefully not looking at us to give us some space.
