Luck of The Irish (Getting Lucky) - Page 22

She shouted as she came on me, her pussy milking my dick with her orgasm. I couldn’t hold on any longer. I came so hard that my body shook as I released inside of her for what felt like the longest orgasm of my life.

Chapter 10

Erin

“Good morning,” Aiden said. He walked into his bedroom with two giant mugs, grey sweat pants slung low on his cut waist. I quickly tucked the news clip about my father into my bag.

“Morning! Whatcha got there?” I asked, putting on the largest smile I could muster.

“Cup of coffee and a cup of tea. I wasn’t sure what your poison was, so I grabbed one of each.”

“I’ll take the coffee, please.”

“Typical Yank,” he said, smiling. He handed me the coffee and placed the tea on the nightstand. He pointed to my bag, “What did you shuffle away there in a rush?”

“Nothing,” I said. I sipped the coffee, letting the warmth take over. “This is pretty good as far as coffee in Ireland goes. Where do you get your coffee?”

“We have good coffee here. I’ll have you know, only one in ten people are coffee drinkers here.” Aiden bent down, bringing the warmth of his lips to my own.

“Is that so?” I asked. His mint scented tongue swept quickly against my upper lip and I opened to him.

“It is so.”

Before I could do anything, Aiden backed away quickly, the newspaper clipping in his right hand.

“Aiden, give that back!” I demanded. “What are you, a pickpocket?” But he held the piece of paper out of my reach.

“Told you I came from the streets. I’ll give it back once I have a quick look.”

“That’s an invasion of my privacy,” I protested.

“Maybe,” he said, shrugging his shoulders, “but I don’t really care.”

My heart raced in concert as I watched Liam open the piece of paper. I didn’t want him to know how unlovable I was, how unlovable I felt when it came to my father. He was about to see how my own flesh and blood denied my existence.

His eyes scanned the paper quickly and I swallowed the lump in my throat to keep the tears at bay. If my father didn’t want me and my mother never cared, then I wasn’t worth the fuss he was making over me. It felt like once he knew the truth, he’d be done with me. Aiden took up charity cases, that much was clear. So maybe I was just a detour on the way to his next cause. If no one ever loved me, perhaps it was because I was incapable of love. But from the way my heart physically ached when I thought about losing him, I knew this was the closest I’d ever gotten to handing my entire heart over to someone.

“Caleb Walsh is your father?” Aiden asked, his eyes not lifting from the article.

“Why do you say it like that? Like he’s a celebrity or something?”

“Because I know him, personally.”

I couldn’t have been more shocked had the ground opened up and swallowed his bed. I rose to my feet to gather my things, but if felt like the room was spinning. It didn’t stop when I sat down, so maybe it was me who was dizzy. I sat on the edge of the bed, face cradled in my hands. “Aiden, how the hell do you know my dad?”

“He volunteers for me. Helps out when I can’t take the kids to the hospital,” Aiden quipped. He sat beside me briskly as if being best friends with my father was not out of the ordinary.

“Helps out how?”

“Sometimes the kids who come to us are in bad shape: gunshot wounds, stabbings, beatings, you name it. I can’t exactly take them to the hospital myself, so Caleb often does it.”

“Why can’t you?” I asked, snatching my clipping back from Aiden.

“Because the kids have records. The Clan got to them young and turned them into criminals. I want to help them all, but that’s not always possible. I don’t want them to end up in gaol where another asshole gets a hold of them and puts them through God knows what. I want the course in life these kids are on to change, not for them to get further schooling on how to become hardened criminals.”

“How the hell did you even find Caleb?”

“He found me. We used to work out together and eventually, I started training him. About a decade ago he started coming in, he had all of this rage, and always wanted to fight with guys twice his weight. One time in particular that I remember, he stood there and took it, let some guy pummel him for twenty minutes.” Aiden glanced at me then and squeezed his temples with one giant hand, using the thumb and forefinger.

“What is it, Aiden?”

“He put himself in the ring like he wanted to die.”
