Bayou Dreaming (Butterfly Bayou 3) - Page 58

Her fingers scraped gently over his scalp and she laughed, but this time it was a genuinely amused sound. “We’ve already talked about your lack of imagination, babe. But you’re on the right track. No one’s ever taken me out of my head before, made me care about nothing but his next kiss, his next caress. I don’t know how you do it, but it’s addictive.”

And maybe it might be a way to stay close to her. The idea that he might bind her up tight, so tight she couldn’t leave him behind when she went, started to bubble in the back of his head.

Did he want to leave Papillon? His home, his family?

He shoved the thought away because all that mattered in the moment was giving her as much pleasure as he could, showing her exactly how well he could take care of her. He needed to prove how right she was about this being different from her every other experience. “I want to take my time with you, baby. I want to make sure there isn’t an inch of you left unloved.”

“Then shouldn’t we get you out of those boxers?”

He would, but in his own sweet time. For now he wanted to concentrate on her. It didn’t matter that his whole body was taut and ready. She was all that mattered. Making her forget that anything existed outside of this room was his only job right now. “Nope. We’re slowing down. The first couple of times I got you in bed went way too fast for me.”

“You didn’t get me in bed yesterday. You threw me up against the shower wall.”

He loved the intimacy of being alone with her, of having memories that didn’t involve handcuffs with her. “Like I said, I was hungry. I was a starving man. But now I can take my time and enjoy my meal.”

She leaned over and he let instinct take hold. His fingers tangled in her hair and he dragged her down on top of him as their mouths met. He kissed her even as he turned her over on the bed and covered her with his body. He pressed himself against her, loving the feel of her. He kissed her over and over again.

“Tell me what you like,” he said as he dropped his head to kiss her neck.

“I like you,” she replied. “I like everything you do to me. It drives me crazy when you kiss me.”

He moved to her mouth again, kissing her lightly before plunging his tongue deep. Her arms tightened around him and she met him kiss for kiss, touch for touch. This was what he’d missed the first two nights he’d spent with her. He’d missed taking his time. He’d been so greedy for her that he hadn’t allowed himself to simply sink into the experience. He’d wanted to please her, and he thought he had, but this time, he was confident in his ability and that let him enjoy the experience of being with her.

“Have I told you how gorgeous you are to me?” He stared into her eyes, memorizing how blue they were.

Her lips quirked up. “Yes, you have.”

“Do you believe me yet?”

The grin faded and he saw how vulnerable she was in that moment. “I don’t know.”

“Then I’ll have to say it until you do. Or show you.” He kissed her again. “I’ll make you believe, Roxanne King. I’ll make you believe that you’re the loveliest thing in the world.”

And maybe along the way she would start to believe in him, too.

He kissed a path across her torso and made his way down, easing off the bed at some point so he could be close to that part of her he loved to taste. He adored the whimpers that came from her as he lavished her with affection. Her hands fisted in the comforter as she held herself in place.

“You’re supposed to tell me what you like. How will I know if I should keep doing it?”

“I freaking love it, Guidry,” she ground out. “Don’t stop. Don’t ever stop. You’re killing me here.”

And that was exactly the response he wanted. His whole body was tight with desire, his heart thudding in his chest as he settled back down to his task.

It wasn’t long before she was quaking and calling out his name.

He let himself off the leash. It was his time. He stood and shoved the boxers off his hips, reached for the condom, and managed to get it on before he fell on her.

“I want you. I want you every minute of the day,” he groaned before making a place for himself between her legs.

She wound her body around his, holding on to him like he was a life preserver.

“Then you should take me,” she growled. Her nails dug into the skin of his back, the minor pain making him feel savage and wildly possessive.
