“And wine, by the sounds of it.”
“Whatever you want, I’ll break my back giving it to you.”
He was serious. But I shook my head.
“Baby, you couldn’t last five minutes out of reach of the Mississippi.” I tugged at his hand and smiled up at him gently. “That’s not what you want. And it’s not what I want, either.”
He looked surprised. “It’s not?”
“No. I left it behind once before, and when I came back, I realized just how much the MC ran through my veins. They’re our family. We belong here.” I rubbed my hands over my belly. “Plus, I don’t want this one missing out on all those uncles and aunts.”
Cade grinned and leaned down to kiss me. For the first time in days, he cradled my face between his big hands and pressed his lips to mine, exhaling deeply as his tongue entered my mouth. The sting of my cut lip made me wince and he pulled back.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, dropping his forehead to mine.
I smiled up at him. “Will you stop apologizing and kiss me again?”
Cade’s eyes sparkled down at me as he bent his head and did just that.
