Let Me Stay - Page 20

“Huh? Oh sure. I’ll be here, finishing up dinner,” Mamma says, giggling.

Brendan lifts me in his arms effortlessly and carries me into the bathroom. He sets me down on the sink and stands in front of me. “Deep breaths, Cherry.” I do as he says and take several deep breaths. His large hand rubs a soothing circle over my back. I am already starting to feel calmer than I was before. His presence, his touch, and his scent are all pacifying to me. “Good girl. Keep going.”

As soon as I can breathe, my tears dry up, and I move my head up so that I can kiss him. He lets me do whatever I want until he takes the kiss over. Before I know it, his hand on my breast, pulling on my already tight nipple and the other is up my skirt, tracing my pussy through my panties.

“Brendan,” I whisper, not entirely sure I want this to happen in my parents’ guest bathroom.

“Shh, I do not want anyone to hear you while I make you come.” Well, shit. The commanding tone in his voice has my knees falling open. He keeps his hand on my breast while he leans down. Using his teeth, he pulls my panties to the side and snakes his tongue through my folds. Over and over, he does this until I come. As if he can sense that I am about to scream, he moves his boob hand up to cover my mouth. I am still coming; it is just muffled now. While I am coming down, he kisses me again, and I can taste myself. Fuck, if that does not turn me on more. Setting me on my feet, he washes his hands and wipes his beard off. God, he is so sexy. I don’t know what lottery I won or why, but I am glad that I did.

“Come on, Cherry. I am ready to meet the rest of your family.”

Here goes nothing.

Chapter 13

Brendan

Being around her family is nice, but I feel like a fish out of water. Knowing what I’ve learned about them, it makes sense. I am not in this life, but I want to be. They are loud and boisterous, much like my own family. She is a little bit of a different person around them though. She is more open with them than she is with me and I do not like that at all. I get that she is more comfortable with them, but I want her to feel that way with me too. For fuck’s sake, I am about to ask her father for his blessing to marry her. Ideally, she would be comfortable enough with me to say yes. Not that I would ever let no be an answer. I have been blessed enough to find her; I will never give her back.

Currently, I am sitting with Bartolo, her older brother. He insisted I call him Bart, so that’s what I will do. He’s quite knowledgeable about all things tech and gaming related. We have a lot in common, and this is the first time since my early college days that I have been able to talk shop in a social setting. I have a good, solid idea about who he is, so I invite him to lunch tomorrow to discuss the possibility of coming to work with me.

About twenty minutes into the evening, her father comes home. I watch as Brynn jumps up from the couch and right into his arms. He is a big man, tall and lean with slightly graying hair. His is the direct opposite of her mother, who is short and round with dark hair.

“Mia figlia,” he says, engulfing her in a hug.

“Papà.”

Standing, I make my way over to them, but I keep my distance until they come apart. I do not want to infringe on this reunion.

“And who is this?” he asks, moving toward me, hand outstretched. I take his and shake it.

“This is Brendan O’Neal. My…” Brynn begins but struggles with the right word.

“Her boyfriend,” I supply for her. “It’s nice to finally meet you, sir.”

“Fabrizio Vitali. Welcome, welcome. Let me get changed. Long day at the office,” he says to a giggle coming from Bella, who quickly looks away. “I am sure dinner is almost ready.” He leaves the room, but not before kissing his wife soundly before he does so. They are a good match. As weird as it sounds, you can just feel the love, the same as with my parents. I hope one day our children feel that way about Brynn and me. Just as we are about to sit down to eat, someone’s phone dings. Everyone simultaneously checks theirs.

“What the fuck is this?” Bella asks, looking down at a phone on the kitchen counter.

“What is it?” Fawn asks, carrying a large bowl of pasta to the table. I move to take it from her, but she stops me with her free hand. “You’re a guest, sit, relax.” I do as she asks. When I get my way, I won’t just be a guest. Looking around the room, everyone is staring at Bella, waiting for an explanation. “Well?” Fawn asks exasperatedly after setting the bowl down on the table.
