My Son's Girlfriend - Page 32

“What the fuck?!” he screeches, pulling away from the guy fucking him so the guy’s cock comes out and stands up in full view for everyone to see. Both boys scramble to get whatever they can find and cover up, while Jimmy’s face is livid, his eyes darting back and forward between me and Jordan. I glance up at Jordan as he stands like a massive statue, his piercing blue eyes flashing.

“Get the fuck out!” Jimmy screeches again, and I grab Jordan by the arm and start pulling him away as I quickly close the door. To my intense relief, Jordan allows me to drag him down the corridor. But we don’t get far. The sound of the door aggressively opening sounds only after we’ve taken a few steps, and we turn around to see Jimmy standing in the corridor, wearing a towel around his waist. I’m grateful to see his hard-on has subsided, probably due to shock, but that hardly makes things better.

“What the fuck is going on?” he yells at us. I feel the rage rippling through Jordan next to me.

“Shut the fuck up,” my man growls. “You will not disrespect me in my own home, you little shit.”

“I’ll do whatever the fuck I want,” screams Jimmy, delirious with rage, “because what the fuck, man? You’re going around fucking my ex-girlfriend!” I freeze, my heart pounding in my throat. How does he know?!

“Yeah, you think I didn’t know? Huh? Do you think I’m a fucking idiot?” Jordan doesn’t even flinch at Jimmy’s continued profanity. There’s something more important going on here. “Someone texted me a goddamn video!”

It’s only now that I realize Jimmy’s holding his phone. He’d come running out with it, like a weapon, but I hadn’t paid attention to it until now. Without warning, he roughly tosses it across the hall at his dad, who catches it instinctively and looks at it: oh god, it’s a video of me getting into the limo earlier!

“Go ahead, fast forward. It’s all there,” says Jimmy with a nasty snarl on his face. Jordan places a forefinger on the timeline on the video and drags it forward a bit, then stops, letting the video continue playing. It now shows the limo bouncing up and down on its wheels. Oh god! There’s only one thing that makes cars move like that, and it’s people doing the dirty inside. I close my eyes in shame, my hand covering my mouth.

“Who sent you this?” grinds out Jordan, tossing the phone back to his son, who catches it.

“Who cares? It’s someone who’s telling the truth, someone I can trust. Which is more than I can say of you. And you,” he sneers, turning to me. I’ve never seen Jimmy like this before, and it occurs to me that I never really knew him at all. If I had, I’d have realized he was gay.

“Hold on a second!” rasps Jordan. “You want to talk honesty? I’m gonna go ahead and assume you didn’t just realize in the last week or so that you’re into male ass!” he continues, leaving Jimmy speechless with rage. “So how honest were you with Katie, who was your girlfriend for months?”

“Jordan,” I try timidly, touching his arm. “It’s okay. I’m not mad.” But he pushes me away.

“What, were you using her as some kind of camouflage? To hide you were gay?” he asks sarcastically.

“You asshole,” breathes Jimmy. “You wonder why I had to sneak around? Because of people like you!” Oh my god, I shouldn’t be here for this. Just as I’m thinking this, Jimmy’s boyfriend exits Jimmy’s room, fully dressed with his face on fire.

“You think I care you’re gay? You think that’s what this is about?” bellows Jordan.

“I – I should go,” the guy stammers to Jimmy, who nods in a barely perceptible movement. Then follows a nonverbal exchange that’s so intimate and understanding, that I gasp. It’s the kind of communication I recognize to be possible only between two people in love. I’ve seen my parents do it many times. In fact, I’m even able to read Jordan a bit now, just from our repeated encounters.

The guy scurries down the corridor, and I turn to my man, opening my mouth to speak, but he cuts me off.

“I understand. Just go,” he growls, surprising me, and turning my stomach to knots. Not knowing what else to do, I shoot a furtive look over to Jimmy, who’s avoiding my gaze, and hurry off down the corridor. When I arrive at the elevator I discover Jimmy’s boyfriend getting in, but it’s too awkward to turn back now. Besides, he’s holding the door for me. I quicken my pace and join him in the elevator.

We stand in awkward silence the whole way down. When we’re almost at the bottom floor, he finally turns to me.
