CHAPTER THREE

Abby

After our night in the Club, I’d gone back to the dorms, quickly stuffing things into a duffel as Jennelle looked on.

“But you can’t!” she protested. “What about … what about..?” she huffed, gesturing furiously.

I didn’t look up, hands moving quickly as I crammed random things into the bag, grabbing this and that.

“Don’t worry about me,” I soothed in as calm of a voice as I could manage. Because of course, what I was doing was absolutely crazy, it was fucking nuts. But I had to do it. My body and soul told me that my future lay with Jared, that I needed to be with Mr. White for the next couple days, to see where this path took me.

But Jennelle sputtered again.

“This is crazy!” she protested, literally grabbing one of my wrists this time, forcing me to pause. “I don’t know what happened tonight, but Abby, you can’t just go off with some strange guy. It’s insane, and besides we have finals coming up!”

I almost laughed because Jennelle’s the least academic person I know. That girl wouldn’t crack a book if you paid her, getting dudes to do her problem sets, to write papers on her behalf. Heck, if I could get a man to do that, maybe I’d be sailing in school too

But the thing is my man wasn’t in class, he didn’t go to Hudson University, not by a long shot. My alpha is a real man, hard, dominating, with an edge to him that makes my soul thrill and pussy sizzle. And I had to go to Jared, to see what he was offering despite the warnings from my friend, like I was about to be kidnapped.

“Abby!” she said sharply. “This is fucking crazy! Who did you meet last night? I swear, I was set up with a bunch of losers, didn’t you get a bunch of losers too? Guys with nose hair poking out, dressed in Adidas track suits and gold chains? Abby, what happened to you?”

That made me pause for a moment. My pal had a point. What had happened to me? I’d met a man who rocked my world, who’d swept me off my feet, giving me my first real orgasm. He’d even convinced me to take my clothes off in public for crying out loud, letting him lick my breasts and snatch, even pushing his tongue up my back hole. It was crazy that I’d done it, and not just given in but thoroughly loved it. I’d loved feeling that hot tongue in my secret spaces, the big hands stroking, fondling, making me shiver all over. And it’d been so heavenly, so deliciously dirty, that I only wanted more. So I was throwing caution to the winds to be with Jared for another couple days, to attend this “Billionaires Ball” he’d told me about. And straightening my shoulders, I turned to Jennelle.

“I’m sorry,” I said, eyes firm. “But I’ll be okay, okay? I know you care about me, but don’t worry, it’s all good.”

Much that did. Jennelle snorted like a skeptical cow and grabbed onto my wrist tighter, her grip surprisingly strong for someone who couldn’t weigh more than ninety pounds.

“No Abby, I can’t let you do this,” she stated authoritatively, her other hand snatching my duffel and holding it out of reach. “I can’t let you walk off with some strange dude! This is so weird, what in the world is going on with you?”

I eyed the bag, the faded canvas packed with college sweatshirts and flannel pajamas. Thoughts of making a dive for it crossed my mind, grabbing the sack and dashing for the door, making an escape. But you know what? It didn’t even matter. Jared had told me that I didn’t need anything at the club, that everything would be provided for. And somehow, I knew these raggedy college clothes weren’t what I’d be wearing, that somehow he’d provide, that everything would appear magically at his words.

So straightening, I seized my purse, swinging it over a shoulder.

“Jennelle,” I said firmly. “Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. Everything’s gonna be fine. I’m totally prepared for finals, and I already finished my big paper, turned it in early even. Now let me go.”

But my friend shook her head stubbornly, grip tightening, mouth in a firm, straight line. I softened somewhat, touched to the heart. Because this is what friends are for right? They call you out when you’re acting nuts, let you know you’re going wacko, and I could see the blonde’s point of view. But the thing was that my future lay on the other side, and it was time to go no matter what she or anyone thought.

“Please,” I said again. “Trust me. You know me, I’m boring Abby, what could I be up to? It’s fine, things are gonna be fine.”
