Husband (Betrothed 2) - Page 23

It was very conflicting.

When I turned down the covers and got onto the bed, he grabbed my ass and forced my face into the sheets. With rough hands, he yanked my thong off my ass and let it sit around my knees. A big cock pressed into my entrance, then slipped inside with a forceful thrust.

I moaned into the sheets.

He held on to my neck as he positioned himself at the edge of the bed, one foot on the mattress so he could deepen the angle. Then he pounded into me while gripping my hip, his dick so hard, it made my insides ache. Every thrust was deep and forceful, as if this were a punishment as well as a reward. “This is how you will spend your nights for the rest of your life…getting fucked by your husband.”

Hades

“Consider it a two-for-one special.” I tossed the two plastic bags of crystal across the table.

He opened a bag and inspected the contents, crushing a piece with the bottom of his cell phone. Once it was dust, he bent over and sniffed it like he had a runny nose. He leaned back and rested his head against the leather chair, letting the potency affect him instantly.

“I’ve got a hundred kilos waiting to be transferred to you…as long as we have an understanding.”

“Chemically, it’s pure. But the asking price is steep.”

With my hands together on the table, I watched him with a callous expression. “If you want the best, you have to pay for it.”

“I just took a hit of something similar. Not as good, but half the price.”

I knew exactly where he’d gotten it. “Do business with Maddox if you want, but don’t do it on my turf. You can sell the cheap shit for a marginal price, or you could sell the good stuff and make a fortune. The answer is clear to me, but if it’s not clear to you, then perhaps I don’t want to do business with you anyway—”

“I’m in. I just thought we could negotiate the price.”

I stared at him without blinking. “I don’t negotiate.”

He placed the bags in his briefcase and excused himself from the table.

“I expect a drop every two weeks.” I didn’t turn around to look at him as he walked off, commanding the room without any exertion.

“Yes, Hades.” His footsteps faded as he disappeared down the hallway.

I was sitting in a conference room at the hotel, Damien looking out one of the windows to the city beyond. His hands were in the pockets of his suit, and he leaned against the wall, far more entertained by the view than the deal that just went down. “Can we trust him?”

“Only one way to find out.”

Damien pushed off the wall then made his way toward me. “Maddox is still our biggest competitor.”

Sure, he undercut my prices, but he still couldn’t match my product. He was a nuisance—not a threat.

“We should have killed him years ago.”

“We’ll get our chance. Be patient.”

“Be patient?” He fell into the vacated chair. “If we don’t kill him, he’ll kill us.”

“Not so easy.”

“He still needs to be eliminated. He undermines us.”

If I’d been able to track him down, I would have put him in the ground a long time ago. But he was always on the move, changing residences and guarding his property with enough ammunition for war. I wasn’t hard to find, but he knew it would be a suicide mission to provoke me. So we both waited for the perfect time…the moment we could get the other alone. “We will. I promise you.”

He looked out the window again, his fingertips drumming against the table. “How’s married life?”

A lot of fighting. A lot of fucking. “Have you seen my wife?”

Damien grinned. “I guess that answers my question.”

It wasn’t the way I wanted our relationship to be, but it was better than the alternative. At least she was there every night when I came home. She was in that bed with me all night long.

“How does she feel about all this?”

“She’s never really asked.”

“Maybe she doesn’t want to know.”

I gave a slight nod. “I think so.”

“It’s better than trying to get you to change.”

“It would defeat the purpose of marrying me in the first place.”

“And what’s it like with the mother-in-law?”

I wasn’t thrilled about Maria joining us, but she wasn’t the worst houseguest. “She respects our privacy.”

“Good. It’d be hard to get frisky when your mother-in-law could knock on the door at any minute.”

“She doesn’t come to the third floor. I told her it’s off-limits.”

“Good.” He continued to drum his fingers. “It’s going to be weird not hitting the strip clubs and whorehouses with you.”

“You’ll find someone else to do it with.”

“Nah.” He shook his head. “You’re the only guy I’d do that shit with.”

“Looks like we’ll have to find other things to do together.”
