My Fake Fling - Page 86

“What?”

“You’re on the realtor site,” she said.

“No,” I said. “I need to bust ass and get my house cleaned up. I did reach out to a realtor that’s going to come this weekend. She’s assured me it’s going to sell fast, and I need to be ready to move within a few weeks.”

“I found one last night, but it was gone this morning,” she said. “It’s ridiculous.”

“Regardless of if I sell, I have to get my dogs out of there in less than a month.”

“I’m sorry that guy is such an asshole,” she said. “You need to make him Tik Tok famous. They will roast him.”

“It won’t solve anything,” I said. Finding nothing on the app, I closed it down.

“Have you talked to your dad?” she asked.

“No,” I said. “Actually, I’m going to text him right now. It’s probably a waste of time. I’m sure Stacey is hiding his phone. I don’t know how to get through to him. He doesn’t understand what she’s doing. More like he does understand, but he’s got his head in the sand.”

“Maybe you should sneak him a burner phone,” she suggested. “Tell him to hide it from her.”

“I don’t think that man has any privacy,” I complained. “She has completely taken over. He’s like a prisoner and she is his jailer.”

“You can’t give up,” she said.

“I won’t,” I said. “I’m not giving up. If Reese can take on three tweakers and survive, I can take on that bitch.”

She threw her head back and laughed. “You get feistier the older you get.”

“Just imagine how bad I’m going to be when I’m sixty. I’m going to be knocking the shit out of people with my cane.”

“I’ll get a matching cane,” she joked. “We’ll beat everyone.”

I texted Dad, but as expected, the text went unanswered.
