Bad Mood Billionaire - Page 78

“I can make that happen.”

“I thought you hated the beach?”

“Not if you’re half naked beside me.”

She giggled. “You know, I’ve always wanted to stay in one of those huts over the oceans with the glass floors.”

“Overwater bungalows?” I mused. “The Maldives it is then.”

“Really? You’re not just messing with me?”

“I would never do something so cruel.” I sipped my champagne and watched her over the rim. “I could book us our own villa, fuck the bungalow. There’d be nobody around for miles. Just you, me, and plenty of ocean. You wouldn’t even need a bikini at all. Just let the sun hit you in all the right places.” I smirked. “Let me hit you in all the right places.”

She bit her bottom lip. “We’re playing a dangerous game with this champagne and all your big talk.”

“It’s not talk. It’s a promise. As soon as I drop off the paperwork tomorrow, I’ll call my travel agent and make it happen. We’ll leave next weekend so I can still meet your folks this Saturday.”

Gabi’s eyes sparkled. “I would love that. Wait. What time did they say they needed the paperwork tomorrow?”

“Eleven.”

Her smile fell. “You won’t be able to deliver them. You have a meeting with George Conway about withdrawing from the Keller project.”

“Shit.”

I’d totally forgotten about that. I’d signed a deal last year to invest in another start-up, but the business owners weren’t holding up their end of the deal. I’d sunk tens of thousands of dollars, possibly hundreds of thousands, into their start-up, and we’d yet to see any returns eighteen months later. Not only that, but they’d ghosted me.

Now I needed to meet with my lawyer to cancel the contract legally without leaving myself vulnerable to attacks down the road.

“I’ll have to find a way to get the documents to Theo and Banner sooner,” I said.

Gabi frowned. “Your meeting is in Santa Rosa at eight thirty. You’d have to drop the documents off at like, seven in the morning. Or afterward, but it would be past eleven.”

“Shit,” I said again.

“I could do it.”

“Really?”

She nodded. “Of course. It’s not that hard. Just send me their address and I’ll have it to them by ten thirty, just for good measure. You didn’t buy me that Lambo for nothing, did you?”

Office rules be damned. I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. “That would be amazing.”

Her eyelashes fluttered and she smiled up at me. “Honestly, I’d do anything to stay in a private villa on the ocean with you.”

“Anything, huh?”

She put her hand on my chest. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, big boy. Anything within reason.”

“I can think of a few things you could do that would be within reason.”

She held up her champagne glass. “Fill me up, handsome.”
