Balanced and Tied (Marshals 5) - Page 90

And I had a thought. “Is how I’m looking at you now, how you were looking at me last night?”

“Yes,” he murmured, chuckling.

“Oh, so you like me in these jeans,” I said, grinning at him.

“Yes. You’re irresistible in those jeans.”

“I don’t know about that,” I told him. “I don’t see you climbing all over me.”

“Would you like to see it?”

“I would, but I want you to eat first. You need the carbs for later.”

“God, I hope so,” he said under his breath, and I smiled because the person you wanted wanting you was brand new, and I was a fan.

“I was thinking,” I said as I wolfed down the spaghetti and pomodoro sauce leftovers from the night before that he’d heated up. “I want to lick your nipples next time because I’ve always thought your chest was beautiful.”

He nearly choked on his eggplant parmesan.

“What?” I asked him.

“I just love all these confessions now.”

I nodded. “I’m sorry it took so long.”

“No,” he said seriously. “You had to figure out what love looks like for you, how it feels, and that’s important. To you, I think, it’s not the gender of the person that matters, it’s the person themselves. You don’t love me because I’m a man, you love me because I’m me.”

I nodded. “Yes. And I do love you,” I said, my voice going out on me for a moment. “You know that, right?”

“Of course I know that. I’ve known that longer than you’ve known that.”

“Which goes back to what I said in bed. I’m not that bright.”

“You talking about bed just made my stomach all fluttery like on opening night.”

“Yeah?”

He nodded quickly.

“I like that. But back to the nipple thing. You’ll let me lick them, right?”

“Yes, baby, you can do whatever you want whenever you want,” he stressed. “Anything you ever wanted to do, whatever kinky things you’ve fantasized about, I’m your man, no question.”

I coughed softly. “Whatever I want?”

He nodded.

“I’ll have to give it some thought.”

He chuckled. “You do that.”

I had a thought then, but it wasn’t at all kinky or sexy or anything else but permanent. I knew what would turn me on, but it was fast, and I didn’t want to scare him.

“You’re not talking.”

“Just eating,” I lied, smiling at him.

“Tell me now. We’re safe at home. You can say anything.”
