The Billionaire Player (In Too Deep) - Page 131

“I’ll tell you in a minute. I set this up to look like your desk at your place, but obviously, there’s still a lot of space for you to add whatever else you may need or want for work. It’s your office, and I want you to have everything you’ve ever longed for in a workspace in here.”

“Okay,” I said slowly. “I think I’m starting to get an idea of what’s going on here, but do you want to tell me?”

“Not yet,” he said, blue eyes intent on mine. He took a step back and held his hand out toward me again. “There’s one more thing I want to show you. Last but definitely not least.”

I put my hand in his. A thrill passed through me when our gazes met and locked. As if he felt the question coming again, he gave his head a small shake and closed his fingers over mine. Leading me out of the office—my office, apparently—he took me upstairs to the master bedroom.

Like with what he’d done downstairs, all the bachelor touches were missing from the room. Most everything else looked the same at first glance, but then I noticed the other subtle changes. There was a framed picture of us on the nightstand and some decorative pillows on the bed—very similar to the ones I had at home.

Tanner strode over to one of the closets and opened it. It had been empty the last time I’d been here, but it was bulging with clothes, shoes, and accessories now. I walked over, surprised when I realized that everything was my size.

Knowing better than to ask again, I simply frowned at him and went into the en-suite bathroom when he motioned for me to. I walked in and saw that the side of the vanity previously set up for guests was now filled with all the things I used. The shower was stocked with my brand of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.

On the edge of the monstrous bathtub beside the shower, there was a bottle of the same bubble bath I’d used back home just earlier tonight and several brand-new candles next to it. A large pink loofah hung over the tap, and when I ventured back out to the bedroom, where he was waiting for me, I realized there was a dressing table against the far wall that I hadn’t noticed when I’d walked in.

Mounted on the side was a hairdryer, and on the countertop, there were several bottles of perfume. One was my usual brand, but the others were all expensive bottles I’d been eyeing but hadn’t bought yet.

Overwhelmed, I turned to face him again. He wanted to explain when he was ready, but I was quickly running out of patience. “What is this all about, Tanner?”

He closed the distance separating us and cupped my cheek in his warm hand. Then he looked at me lovingly as he finally started to explain.
