Second True Love - Page 123

Mere shrugs before Snowy jumps on the table, sniffing our food. She circles before settling her front paws on my hand.

My chest inflates, all the girls in this house want my love and attention.

“Don’t look so smug, you got cheese nuggets.” Mere eyes Snowy, clearly not happy with her cat liking me more than her. “Hey, Clem, did Snowy break your cat lamp? I haven’t seen it in a while.”

Fuck! With Lukas in the hospital, Lebedev on the loose, Clem and I haven’t discussed us with Merida. We’re stealing moments whenever we’re alone and Clem is still sleeping in her room most nights.

Clementine nervously glances at me as she tries to find the right excuse. I know Mere is aware that there’s something between Clem and me. I also know she likes us together, at least that’s what I’ve always felt. But how will she react to finding Clem’s things in my bedroom?

“No. It’s in…another room,” Clementine stammers.

“Which room?” Her eyebrows rise as she looks between us before her face beams. “You moved into Dad’s room!”

“I didn’t. He—”

“Holy hell! Dad moved you into his room!” she squeals before making a run for my bedroom.

Clementine relaxes before giggling and following Mere with Snowy hot on her heels.

Smiling, I grab my beer bottle and trail behind them.

Mere frantically opens one drawer after another. “Wow, your bags are here.” She then glances at my T-shirts and jeans, neatly hanging from black, wooden hangers. “But not everything.”

“Keith wanted me to decide if I want to fully move in.” Clementine smiles, eyeing me from the side.

“And?” I can see Mere’s light body taut as she impatiently waits for an answer.

“I think I’ll move the rest of my stuff soon.” Hearing Clementine’s words, Mere jumps into her arms.

They whisper something in each other’s ears and my heart squeezes, watching them together.

When we all settle back at the dining table, I notice Clem’s hand clasped in Mere’s grip. Watching Mere seek motherly affection is surreal.

My daughter smiles at me, teeth on full display. “This means Dad and you are sleeping together.”

The beer I was drinking comes out of my mouth instead of going in. “Jesus, Mere!” I turn to look at Clementine, laughing her ass off. “What did you tell her?”

“I didn’t say anything.” Clem pauses that beautiful laughter for a second, before she cracks up again. “She saw my things in your room and presumed.”

“I’ve no interest in your sex life, Dad.” Mere pokes her tongue out.

“Jesus! Don’t say that word. Just finish your dinner and go to your room.” My face heats in embarrassment.

Unfazed by my comment, my daughter waggles her eyebrows. “Oh, Daddy wants to be alone with his new girrrrlfriend.”

Clem laughs like a lunatic. The whole scene before me is filled with craziness, embarrassment, and weird happiness.

Finally, Mere leaves while Clem is still smiling, her eyes gleaming with laughter.

“You’ll pay for that.” I get up, grabbing the empty cardboard boxes from the table.

“For what?” She follows me into the kitchen, bringing Mere’s soda can and our empty beer bottles. “Mere was the one teasing you.”

After opening the cupboard under the sink, Clementine bends forward to throw the empty glass bottles and metal can in the recycling bin when I grab her by her hips.

“Keith,” she whispers in a throaty voice, peering at me over her shoulder.

When she slowly stands up, her perfect ass grazes over my rock-hard dick.
