Second True Love - Page 117

“Good…that was the goal.” I try to maintain a cool exterior but inside I’m a jittery mess.

His lips curl up farther, a triumphant smile on his face. Pouring two glasses, he seductively pushes one in my direction on the table. “Does that mean I’m losing this seduction game?”

I grab the champagne glass and gulp back the liquid. “By miles. You are nowhere near me.”

Looking me in the eye, he pulls off his jacket and gracefully hangs it on the dining chair. One more glance in my direction and his fingers work on the third button of his shirt.

Thank God! The first two are already undone.

After laying the shirt over his jacket, he stands before me bare-chested.

“Do I come closer?” He takes a step toward me, and all I can do is grab his untouched glass and swig down the drink.

He tears the empty glass from my hand.

“I want you sober, Clementine,” Keith rasps before throwing me over his shoulder and bringing me to his bedroom.

When he places me on his bed, my gaze lands on the other side of his nightstand.

Holy shit! That’s my cat lamp, sitting proud.

I peer at his smiling face.

“I wanted to show you and also see for myself how this can be, if we agree to go all in.”

“I love it.” My hands clutch my chest as my gaze shifts between him and the nightstand.

“Then you’ll also love this.” He saunters toward his giant dresser and opens the top drawers.

My lips curl up upon seeing several of my colorful handbags.

“I didn’t move all your stuff. If you like, you can bring the rest of it…or even take this back.” He waves around, not really looking at me.

“Why would I do that?”

“I want you to think, Clementine. I don’t want you to do anything that you regret later.” He shrugs and gives me a weak smile.

“I’m not going to regret anything. I want it, Keith. I told you, I want it all.” I look at the perfectly made bed, remembering my night here. “And just so you know, this talk is not helping with the seduction thing.”

Keith chuckles before ambling toward me. “I am sorry, Miss Clementine, for falling short on my services.” A huge smile lights his face. This time, his eyes crinkle and he looks so young.

Before I can think more, he pulls me closer. His fingers skim over the collar of my cropped blouse, over the white buttons, and finally to the knot above my belly button. His fingers linger on the cotton for a while before they drag over my skin.

“I’ve missed you, especially in the mornings.” His hoarse voice makes my pulse go wild.

“Me too. Did you ask Tony to bring me a cinnamon latte at five every morning?” My eyelids flutter as his fingers lazily move over my skin, giving me goose bumps.

He hums. “I also bought you a latte machine. It’s supposed to make the real stuff. You’ll have to try it out and tell me if it was a real steal or if I was conned.”

I nod, too mesmerized by this version of him. He tweaks my heart with his smile, showing me how perfect he is.

When Keith captures my face in his hands, I feel like I’m the most cherished person in the world.

“This is it, Clem.” He leans down, his mouth sucking against the hollow of my neck before nipping softly.

My fingers clutch the belt loops of his jeans. I’ve never been more turned-on. His way of seduction is much more intense than mine, for sure.

When his mouth moves upward, pressing kisses over my cheeks, I wrap my arms around him. Today, I touch him with confidence. My hands glide over his hard muscles when he crashes his mouth to mine.
