Saving Vienna - Page 79

“Fuck!” I groan and my head lightly hits her shoulder. The cashmere shawl feels soft against my face as I press my lips to her neck.

The fluttering of her pulse boosts my confidence, and I grab the back of her head, urging her to give me her mouth again. I push my tongue past her teeth, rolling it against hers.

This is fucking heaven. Nothing compares to this.

Vienna fiercely returns everything back, stealing my breath and making me dizzy. My fingers tighten around her slender back when she tilts her head slightly to deepen the kiss.

I can’t stop the low, guttural sound that erupts somewhere deep in my chest and gets lost inside her.

When my eyes open, she’s staring at me with lustful eyes. Holding her gaze, my lips go softer over hers. I flatten my hand on her neck and move it down to her back before she pulls back and whispers, “I want to stay in.”

Thank God. Because that’s what I fucking want to do. Stay in, not just in but not leave the bed, at all.

But I look down at her, dressed to enjoy her namesake city.

The camera, which holds the key to her dreams, has slipped from her shoulder and is now dangling from her arm.

Fuck! I can’t do this.

“Me t-too.” I rest my forehead against hers and tear my gaze away from her spellbinding eyes. “But I als-so want to sh-show you ar-round.”

I yank her toward the door. Without pausing for more than a second at the landing, where I grab our coats, I step out, bringing her with me.

“Zane!” Vienna groans in frustration, making it difficult for me to put the coat on her. “I don’t want to go out. I want to have sex with you.”

My movements still before I quickly look around. There are two hotel staff personnel biting their lips as they drag a room service cart away.

“W-what’s got-tten into you?” I look back at my wife, who still has a pissed-off expression on her face.

“I’m horny, what else?” She waves her hands up, and all the air is sucked out of my lungs.

“You’r-re making this s-so fucking har-rd,” I mutter after finding my bearings.

“Good, I want you to be hard. Rock solid. All damn day.”

I don’t know what stunned expression she sees on my face, because all of a sudden, her furrowed eyebrows relax and she bursts into laughter. This time, it’s she who tugs on my hand and takes me toward the elevator.

“So now I know your previous girlfriends didn’t have a dirty mouth.” She throws me a grin, but thankfully the elevator arrives before I can really lose my mind.

We spend the day enjoying a grand tour of the Schönbrunn Palace, strolling in the gardens and even taking the cheesy carriage ride. And finally, we’re standing outside the café revered by my wife.

Vienna clutches her fists to her chest. “I think I’m going to faint.”

“Hey, ar-re you okay?” I immediately grab her shoulders and look down at her.

Even though today hasn’t been very strenuous, we have to be careful, especially now when she’s anemic.

“Am I okay?” She turns around in my arms. “Are you seriously asking me that? I’m standing outside a café that is more than five hundred years old. Legends like Mozart and Beethoven played table music here.” She grabs my jacket, balling it under her soft fists. “If I haven’t said so yet, you’re a dream husband, Zane. I love—”

The four-letter word that could have meant everything hangs in the air.

Is it her excitement about loving this fucking town, this café, this day…or is this some giant declaration?

But before I have a chance to ask, she’s interrupted by a loud throat clearing.

“Hallo. Herzlich willkommen bei Frauenhuber.” A man possibly in his fifties with a trimmed and bushy beard opens the door for us. He then says in a heavy accented voice, “You’re very aware about the history of this place. Please come in.”
